"Anyone can explain me what differences are between Vegas 17 Edit and Vegas 17 Pro?"

Vegas Pro comes with a DVD Architect license, Vegas Pro Edit don't.

and that's it ?! wow so after I test trial version I think that edit is good for me because I have Architect with V15.
I can't wait for test that! And if new color grading will as good as davinci's then I will uninstall davinci and there won't be problems with XML exporting from Vegas 😍😍😙

@JN You could use it for that. It lets you set a slider that starts at 1.0x, so after processing, as long as your project setttings were of a higher frame rate, theoretically it should work as long as you leave playback speed at full.

*I have not tested this.

the problem with the sound card (Native Instrument - Komplete Audio 6) still exists.

I always get information after the renderer:

"The ASIO device Komplete Audio 6 caused an internal exception (0xe06d7363) and has been disabled.

Congrats to the Magix / Vegas team for delivering a package that is fully packed with features. I think it is the best NLE out there. I am a proud user since version 1.2 and will continue this in the future! I convinced so many people in my surrounding to use Vegas Pro in the past years. People who now work faster with less hassle. yeah I already found that too and this is the main difference between this two because I am not using this plugins which I can use with Pro version.
I see that we need to wait for some update to Vegas 17 :D but this color grading feature is cool! Easy to use hard to master :D

I have not seen the VEGAS POST. Will it be released today?

We are performing the final testing on VEGAS POST and the release will follow within the coming days.

thank you for the information ! pretty sure you're not allowed (lol) to answer this, but as someone possibly interested by Vegas effects, is it the right moment to upgrade to Vegas Pro 17 or better is to wait the release of Post to see the crossgrade price or any possibility of that kind (i'm only interested by the video Effects additionnal software).

You could export it as LUT. Enjoy VP17!

VEGASPascal wrote on 8/5/2019, 8:40 AM

Marco, would it be possible that the new “optical flow” feature could also improve rendering out old 15fps footage to say 25fps, or is it purely for slomo?

At the moment it is a static respeeding tool (like Twixtor)... but your dynamic solution is on our internal wishlist.

How could I export project? ;)
Exporting LUT from davinci was not option because I always have projects from multiple cameras which have difference colours and for most clips I need manually change some preferences like brightness/hue/changing colours so it was better to make half project in davinci than in vegas ;) and even that LUT Filter made lut looks different than in DaVinci

What about Vegas Pro 365??? When do we get the upgrade???.....I would have thought that would be instantaneous.

vkmast wrote on 8/5/2019, 11:49 AM

See fr0sty here.

(From the VP 365 product page, a VP 365 FAQ: "How do update installations work? - You will be alerted when an update is available. Updates are not automatic, so you are free to choose when to install the update.")

Is there a bug report section? NVENC will not render, and you can't even open up Vegas without uninstalling Boris Continuim first.

DesertSweeper wrote on 8/5/2019, 1:25 PM

I have tested Vegas 15 and 16 and 17 on a reference clip with a LUT applied. It is apparent that there is almost no difference in render times between Vegas 15 and 16 across the board with respect to rendering on any combination of my Core i7-8700K and an AMD RX580 or an NVIDIA GTX 1070ti or the built in iGPU

However they have been rather busy it seems, on Vega 17, which is now vastly superior.

So for Vegas v15 and v16 and v17:

For CPU only renders I get 22:16 and 22:40 and 14:57 - a very good improvement

For iGPU renders I get 11:46 and 11:09 and 4:52 (amazing improvement - no add-in GPU!!!). 15 and 16 used only about 20% of my iGPU but now uses 60%

For AMD renders I was not expecting an improvement as the GPU was already maxed out in 15 and 16 at 100% so now I get 4:42 and 4:41 and 4:40 showing the RX580 is indeed a bottleneck (100% across all three). More than likely one would see an improvement on the Vega cards. Will try to get my hands on one.

NVIDIA will be the interesting result as it was yielding 4:17 and 4:23 with only 10 to 20% CPU usage so plenty headroom for improvement there. Unfortunately I returned the borrowed GTX but will get it back tomorrow to see if they have optimised NVENC further for 17 also

Just for the hell of it I ripped a cheap and nasty Quadro P400 out of an NVR and threw it at them to see if there was any improvement using the cheapest of cheap Nvidia's and I get: 13:44 and 14:01 and 9:31

So yes they have worked on NVENC optimisation too...

Have no problem rendering NVENC with a Quadro P400 4K-25@24Mbps on Wndows 10

Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins, and move it manually out from that folder..., like maybe C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX off
