Hi all! I tried Vegas 17, but got problem with export DXV codec (its VJ Resolume codec). But in Vegas 16 all okay!

Paul-Fierlinger wrote on 8/26/2019, 8:41 AM

The refresh symbol in Import Media is missing in the toolbar.

I am thrilled with the warning popup when attempting to delete a track!

I can't send my avi directly from my animation software TVPaint into Vegas 17 anymore and will be doing the little I can in my powers to help get this resolved. Right now the workaround is to first close Vegas 17 before exporting my avi from TVPaint and then open back my Vegas timeline to find the avi entered. I have to do this dozens of times every day and it gets quickly tiresome.

I keep reading in the forum that the VP 17 plugin problems (hitfilms not working , BCC installed crashes VP at start, etc) are caused by the plugins and require plugin updates. It appears to be a problem with VP. I asked about a new compatible version of Hitfilm Movie Essentials at FxHome and got the following response:

"Hello,
Thank you for contacting FXhome. That compatibility requires an update to VEGAS Pro 17, and I believe Magix plans to include it in the next update to that software.

Any idea when Vegas Pro 17 Update 1 will be available with some bugfixes?

VEGASDerek wrote on 9/6/2019, 4:13 PM

We are working hard to finish it up. We usually do not wait thing long before doing an update after an initial release so I can understand some anxiety. It is coming.

KaraUSA wrote on 9/8/2019, 7:38 AM

@VEGASDerek New codecs are planned for the update?

VEGAS_CommunityManager wrote on 9/9/2019, 7:31 AM

@KaraUSA I think you can understand that we can't communicate updates beforehand in detail. Please have a little more patience.

Okay so after using Vegas 17 from premiere date I can say that now Vegas 17 is not for edit. It have too many bugs which often crash software, adding media into project works too slow comparing to Vegas 15. After 2 hours of work in V17 it just slow down and any edit is not available you need to restart it and then you can edit again.

Every ctrl + z will make V17 crash.
DNxHD doesn't open in V17 (in Vegas 15 it open with no problem)
.MOV files works too slow
Color Grading have some minor bugs like - when I make basic color grading and want to make some changes on RGB curves sometimes it works like I add second color grading plugin with the same settings. All RGB Curve is boosted and to fix that I need restart Vegas 17. After restart I can easily change basic colours.
SlowMotion did not meet my expectations, I mean it is not bad but not good too.

Rendering LUTs (with color grading tool) are just insane. 90minutes project is rendering now in only 45minutes when in Vegas 15 I cannot render because 30 minutes project was rendering for about 2 hours.
Stabilization - I think that now there is no better stabilization. When I was using davinci resolve before to color grading and stabilization I thought that there will be no better stabilization than this but Vegas 17 just blow my mind it is so good! But... It is perfect for static shoots or with basic movement but when I add it on glidecam/gimbal footage it is stupid sometimes and make this footage even worse but after change some settings it is good.

Overall it is good that I can use my old Vegas 15 and Vegas 17. Now I am edit in Vegas 15 and in Vegas 17 I am using only color grading tool because I am not able to edit in V17 because of that crashes it stop my work too much.

I am waiting for some update and I hope that will be better than now.

I upgraded to Vegas Pro 17, and am getting an error when I boot the app, it gets stuck loading "ACBoxCombo.dll". Has anyone else seen this problem? I searched all of the forums, for Magix and Vegas, and didn't see any responses.

Hi,

why there still isn´t a chance to get timecode coupled material in the timeline? I can´t find it anywhere.

Thanks

Does Magix have a place to send a support ticket for Vegas 17? I'm having lots of crashes with 4K even after making proxy files. I wouldn't think it's due to an under powered system because I tried a Premiere Pro trial this morning and 4K plays back smoothly. I've been with Vegas going on 20 years so I really want to stay with Vegas but at this point it's unusable with 4K.

Go to https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/support/form

If you have form, then go for it...

But, if you were asked for 'interview' I Need Help With...; you will have to navigate by click any help choices, and after 'Perhaps This Will Help You...' suggestions appear, click 'Search for Other solutions', type search the closest keyword, 'find a solution', then find in the most bottom choice: 'Send a support request'

thank you for the information ! pretty sure you're not allowed (lol) to answer this, but as someone possibly interested by Vegas effects, is it the right moment to upgrade to Vegas Pro 17 or better is to wait the release of Post to see the crossgrade price or any possibility of that kind (i'm only interested by the video Effects additionnal software).

To everybody who wants to buy VEGAS Pro 17 and is asking if they have the possibility to later upgrade to VEGAS POST:

As soon as VEGAS POST is released, you can reply to your order confirmation of VEGAS Pro 17 and you will get VEGAS POST (of course you have to pay the difference).

I have VEGAS Pro 17 Suite and would like to upgrade to VEGAS Post. How can I do this? Of course, I will pay the difference?

1) Is this a free update to v16 users?

2) Does it still support win7-64?

3) Have they fixed the bug whereby the program leaves a bit of itself running upon exit, and Tast Manager has to be used to terminate that process before the program can be run again (I posted the details)?

Thank you for any input.
