VEGAS 20 is Here!

The time has come, VEGAS 20 is finally out!

Check out that File Drop online collaboration, share projects with fellow editors, colorists, fx artists, etc... with the ability for each to leave you notes on the timeline after making their changes... and HSL Curves and new white balance controls in the color grading panel! VST is finally fixed and updated in VEGAS (New VST bridge plus VST 3 support)! There's also a handy automatic project archival system. Plus:

New GL transitions

Transition Progress with animation

Scene Detection creates regions

And there's lots more to come! New features will continue to roll out with each update. For reference, VEGAS 19 saw 5 updates, each that added new features, so this is far from the final feature list... AND YES, performance improvements are among the things being currently worked on to add to that list (some are already here, they started with audio by overhauling the VST system), and there have been a number of stability improvements already implemented, with more to come.

@Former user everything is a tool for filming video. Where I have a tough time is that it is all that was shown in the video. And of course, she is a young lady. Nothing wrong with that. Trying to attract new "blood". But it seems it's being advertised only to them. "Old" blood has kept things going and seem to be neglected.

I want Vegas to be successful. But try and appeal not just to the "content creators", whatever that means....

Side note @Former user, she is cutting wood with a miter block without any support to hold it in place.

Didn't saw that new buttons. I need to reorganize my edit process now but I think that would be fast change. Now everything makes sense but I really prefer click and drag than this ;)

I miss the following from version 20:
- CMOS Fixer for mobile phone videos
- a professional Title Editor (like the old one, which was available but with a bit more knowledge)
- or the current Title Editor should be able to save keyframes to Profile, or text animation should be keyable
So for now I'll wait and see and stay with 19.

My comment was factual... he obviously isn't a professional that works with large crews if he thinks that the only purpose for that feature is making tik tok videos... truth is, he was just bashing VEGAS for the sake of it, as he has been doing for the past several months because he was salty that VEGAS made changes to the color scheme and button set.

Yes, I do understand, there might be some "salty blokes" around, me included, ahahah...but it still READs like you are - again maybe not your intent - suggesting he's "not a professional......" and understand the caveat part, 'who works with XYZ.'...anyway, yes if people are simply here to bash, that adds some context. I'm just installing now, will try to chime in later with salt of my own (or hopefully not, maybe some sugar!!).....

I do, and this is something I have been nagging the team about for a while, but it isn't something that is going to be easy to implement, so it'll be a while longer. JetDV has a useful multicam tool you might like, though.

Here's the thing though - when you enabble multicam editing , Vegas doesn't actually tell you that you have to create a multicam track, as, for some reason, those don't go hand in hand. But if you don't , you just see the upper track in the preview window with a blue border as the "active / chosen track, as you would when you have all the tracks visible separately when multicam track is enabled, but with no access to choose any of the others. In that case, what is multicam editing good for without the multicam track, as you don't see what's on the other tracks? Why are these not directly rerlated? Unless I completely miss something here ( and have been for years), this doesn't make much sense. I woudn't miss the multitrack at all if Vegas just showed me all the tracks in pip in the preview window, creating cuts and mutes as you choose your active / blue bordered track.
Is that actually really difficult tp program? ( as a non programmer, i seriously have no clue )

I recommend a clean install of Win. Nothing else works for this problem. Installing win10 21H2 helped me. I have no experience with win11.

A clean install of Win got my Gtx970 back in the game after years of problems.

Ich habe bei Vegas 19. keine Verbesserung gebracht. Die GPU-Erkennung wurde erst mit dem letzten Build von Magix repariert und funktionierte dann. Verwenden Sie jetzt Voukoder. Schneller und bessere Qualität. Funktioniert auch super mit Vegas 20

I'm a 360 subscriber with V19. I'm not clear on what to do to upgrade. Do I download the trial version and go from there with my V19 serial number?

First it's 365 (days of the year). Log into your account and download the current 365 installer. Then enter your 365 serial number if prompted and activate it.

I use multicam A LOT. If you want you can under that track back to separate tracks while editing in the tools menu. As for me - it is done ok. And it is easier to make transitions in one track for me.

NORMALIZE BUTTON

If you need to normalize one, max two events then Ok. If you have multiple events, you have to use the traditional right-click method.

Suggestion for improvement:

If you select multiple events, just click the Normalize button for just one event and all selected ones will change.

VST3

Please add the VST3 folder to the FX window.

For normalize - I made hot key many years ago (ctrl \) and happy with that. Just selecting all audioevents, press my hotkey and done.

Problem solved. Settings / Internal / enable hardware encoder / true to false. And everything works!

Best to not do this from internal settings, there is an option to disable hardware decoding in file i/o tab of the preferences menu.

Sure, how did you buy VEGAS 20? Was it part of a "buy 19 and get 20 when it releases" deal? If that is the case, those numbers should be emailed out sometime in the next couple days, if you are a VEGAS Pro/Post 365 subscriber, log into your magix account and re-download the installer, use your same serial number from before to register it.

Just download free trial (on the main site) and insert you serial if you have it I think.

No I already had Vegas Pro 19 not the subscription. This was the Upgrade to 20 for $249. I don't do the monthly subscription model. My receipt says Upgrade: VEGAS Post 20 and I have the order number.

If you log into your Magix account, do you see it listed under My Products? The serial and download link should be in there. If they are not, reach out to Magix support and they will get one to you.

It's not listed under My Products. BTW, That support link just takes you to the help center with pre-written support topics. You can't find a real person at Magix from there for help. I did finally find an email from my account: infoservice@magix.net. Hopefully they will respond soon.
