@EricLNZ agreed 🙂. And you're right, the tree view exclusion in the Media Generator pane cannot be fully worked around using the respective Plug-In Chooser. The Video FX and Transitions panes/windows were also simplified and the exclusion can be worked around but with a roundabout way, which does not make it any simpler.

I have Built 109... I put a 5 second title and added a 8 minute and 30 second MP4 video from a screen capture program. I rendered the title and the MP4 Video to one MP4 video. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes to render. Why so long?

Why so long?

Hardware- and rendertemplate specs please?

I crossed the ocean, it took me 100 days.....by what: swimming, sailing, paddling....... flying?

Without further details it is hard to say why your rendering takes so long.

Rich-Rodgers wrote on 2/19/2019, 9:11 AM

J-V I do not have that option (Tuts) on my Movie Studio Platinum 16

j-v wrote on 2/19/2019, 10:15 AM

Did I say you need someting? My video shows only that the things you did can within half a minute rendertime in VMS 16 , no more, no less.
But if you don't give the specs not only I was asking for nobody can help you for doing it a lot faster as I showed you on the video.

j-v I was watching your video where you rendered your movie under (Tuts) all I am saying I do not have that option for rendering. It looks like if I had "Tuts" would render faster. I never said you said I needed something. I am just saying on my Movie Studio, it doesn't have the option to render like yours in the "Tuts" rendering.

I was just hitting "Make a Movie" then MP4. I finally rendered in 720 and it rendered faster. My hardware is a Quad 3.2 Ghz CPU, Windows 10 Professional, 12 GB of RAM .

j-v wrote on 2/19/2019, 1:59 PM

The "tuts'I rendered with is my own setting for showing screenplays in these Magix AVC customized settings, but also $K renderd video's goes very fast with the Magix AVC or HEVC renders with the NVENC option

Maybe you can choose that one also by pushing before OK the Advanced settings?

A couple of basic questions: 1. I am on version 14 (I was not attracted by an upgrade to 15). 16 seems to have useful features, particularly better stabilisation. However, I collaborate with a colleague in another country. If I upgrade and she does not will we still be able to share files? (ie can 14 open files saved in 16?) And to push it further, if I upgrade to Pro will my colleague using Movie Studio Platinum 14 be able to open files I save in Pro? I recall that I could not open the files I made in Platinum 14, using version 13.

2. I always get nervous when I see that an upgrade will "save your settings"! I sometimes use Legacy text so that I can access fonts that Movie Studio does not want to show. I see in an answer to someone else you said that Legacy text is still there but hidden. How well hidden? One click down or crying with frustration hidden? Any other traps to look out for?

Not trying to be negative. It is just that I lkke the version I have got!

j-v wrote on 2/21/2019, 1:08 PM

1.
No problem to use projects of older versions.
Not the other way around.
No problem to open vf projects into the same or newer Pro versions
No other way around.
2.
One click in the hidden Options and you will have the legacy text again

@peter-mcintyre the most recent advice on the forum to find the hidden Internal Preferences is here.

peter-mcintyre wrote on 2/22/2019, 3:31 AM

Thanks j-v and vkmast for the speedy response - so for upgrading it is "one in all in" 👫. Very useful tip on how to find internal preferences.

VMS 16 Platinum does have more to offer than 14. The Storyboard feature alone could change your workflow. It looks as though it will change mine.

Not sure where I should post, as this is a feature request, but has a Split Screen Template Creator been considered, I know that MS16 has a split screen template, but this only allows to split the screen in two, what I would like to see is a creator where I can split the screen into as many segments as I want, I know it is possible, because one of the other NLEs that I have, does have that facility.

Whilst I have upgraded to VS16 suite, I also have another Magix NLE, which I also use, I still need to have my other NLE installed, solely for the purpose of Split Screen Creation

Yes, NewBlueFX Stabilizer and Titler Pro 6

Are you sure you get Titler Pro 6, as I had no links to this when registering my download, or is it embedded in there somewhere?

Steve

vkmast wrote on 2/23/2019, 2:06 PM

@Steve-Marsh the poster you quote was most likely referring to TP 6 which he got with another program. VMSP or VMSS 16 does not come with TP 6.

Begginer question, how do I remove the original audio from a short clip, thanks

3POINT wrote on 2/24/2019, 8:51 AM

Select Audiopart of clip on the timeline, press U and then DEL button.

The software crashes on importing H264 AVC videos pulled straight from YouTube with youtube-dl. Is this a known bug or is there a place to report this kind of stuff? Was hoping MSP16 would work, MSP15 crashes on the same content.

It's not a super heavy video, Not even 1080p... why would the software straight up crash?

To repro:

youtube-dl -f 135 "

youtube-dl version 2019.02.18

ffmpeg 4.1.1, ffprobe 4.1.1

Windows 10 1809 w/ TITAN V (but tried CPU mode, tried dynamic RAM set to 0)...

From day to day, the possibility of adding mp3 files disappeared. What happened? If I drag a file out of Vegas straight to the timeline, only a squeal is heard.

leroi wrote on 2/27/2019, 9:15 PM

Could you please, pleeeeeeeease add an option to disable Resample (or at least an option to "Select All: video only" so we can right-click and disable Resample on everything). I upgraded to 16 Suite and the option still isn't there. :(

EricLNZ wrote on 2/27/2019, 10:16 PM

Search the forum and there's a thread somewhere telling you how to select all clips and apply disable resample. Sorry haven't time at present to find it..

leroi wrote on 2/27/2019, 10:49 PM

Thanks Eric. I did that before but it can be difficult to "select only video items" in a large project, so the Disable Resample option doesn't always become available. They really need to add an option to allow Resample to be turned off or on by default. I believe they did it already in Pro.

EricLNZ wrote on 2/28/2019, 12:39 AM

You can do it track by track, which is a compromise but better than doing individually. Select the first event (clip) and right click to select "Select Events to End". Then right click into Switches and "Disable Resample" Thanks to 3POINT for mentioning this a while back.

Unfortunately don't ever expect what you would like as it's been made clear by the Vegas developers that it's a Pro only feature to have the option to have it apply at project level.
