I've been using Vegas Pro 14 for a few years without any issues. I bought Vegas Pro 16 Edit through Humble Bundle today and registered my product through the Magix website. I used the installer there and upon opening the program I received the following "Error code: -59" "An error occurred starting VEGAS Pro. There is no license to use this software.".
I uninstalled all versions of Vegas Pro from my PC and removed all Magix, Sony Creative Software, Sony, and Vegas folders/files/registry entries from all hard drives connected to my pc. Then, ran CCleaner to clean my registry data, and rebooted my pc. I then reinstalled Vegas Pro 16 from my registered product page. Upon starting the program, I received the error again. I've tried going to my activation page on the Magix website but I cannot create an activation key. (Even if I could, I cannot input the key because the program itself will not start.)
I then tried to redownload Vegas Pro 14 Edit to see if that still worked. I got the same error.
I've tried everything I can think of to no avail. Please advise.
Things to note:
- I'm connected to the internet.
- I have registered my serial key through the MAGIX Service Center.
- I've tried restarting my router, modem, and pc.
- I've deleted the files in Program Files, Program Files x86, Programdata, Appdata>Local, Appdata>Roaming on BOTH my C: and D: drives.
- I've deleted all MAGIX, Sony, Sony Creative Software, Vegas, Vegas Pro, and Xara registry files in both HKEY_CURRENT_USER, and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (including the entries in Wow6432Node).
- I've seen this post and followed it exactly https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/support/article/troubleshooting-error-59-16xx-and-account-already-exists--537/.
- I've removed all activations of all products and machines on the MAGIX Service Center page.
- Programs will not prompt activation window on startup due to the error messages. (They will not start at all.)
- Vegas Pro 14 Edit was working fine and is now subjected to the same error message.
