Dear Community,

We have just released the first update for VEGAS Pro 18. Please give us your feedback in this thread.

If you already have an earlier build of VEGAS Pro 18, VEGAS POST Suite or VEGAS Effects 2, there is no need to uninstall it. This build will overwrite your installation and retain your settings. Keep in mind that your computer will need to be online for activation after the update.

This update is being uncooperative. Not only does it insist that Vegas is running if I download from within Vegas and then close Vegas (and check task manager to be sure it isn't running), but the standalone insists that I uninstall Vegas to use the updater. Do they actually test anything before rolling it out?

This update is driving me mad. I have tried numerous times to update and have even sacrificed chickens while doing so. When I start VP18 I say update and it faffs around downloading the update, it then tells me it cannot update while vegas is open so I close vegas and then the update disappears and back to square one. If I close vegas while downloading it cancels the update. Really, really badly implemented just give me a normal download FFS. WHAT AM I MEANT TO DO? WHAT IS THE TRICK TO THIS? The current utter buginess and unreliability of VP18 screams that it needs a drastic update, just wish I could make it happen. Maybe you'd like to let me know what I need to do. Unimpressed.

Thank you for that... however...I trawl through the page, find the update for VP18, click the link and am taken to a page for the update of 18 and I get this message

And nothing happens and the link doesn't work. I discovered that if I copy the link and put it into a different browser It then works. Hope this helps someone else

It's a known issue that e.g. Chrome may not work without the copy/paste workaround that you mention. We've often suggested in several forum threads that you try another browser.
