I was hoping for UI enhancement, with the option to revert to VP18's UI. VP19's UI is OK on a physically large monitor, but it's not laptop-friendly, and most unfriendly on my Dell Vostro.

@Chuzz.  ... I've been unable to recreate that menu display problem on either my laptop with an HD display or my desktop using a 4K display - and that includes changing Windows 10 and 11 (the laptop) varying both Vegas Pro 19's display settings in Preferences as well as Windows display settings.

With that in mind, what OS are you using and does your computer meet the minimum recommended specifications for Vegas Pro 19 as per https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/specifications/#productMenu - and monitor specs as well.

Can't render amd vce 2160p using asus tuf rx 6800 xt card and using vegas pro 19 build 532 same problem earlier build too and this not working any amd drivers (22.2.3 or 21.Q4). Files come useless. Render time not be working any build vegas pro 19.

RogerS wrote on 3/10/2022, 5:19 AM

@Test Is that bitrate over the maximum VCE can do? Try cutting it in half and see if you can get a render to complete.

Test wrote on 3/10/2022, 5:41 AM

I think that is not high vegas pro 17 is do file that setup right but not vegas pro 19 and this setup 19 do file right too but why can't put bit rate my own ?

RogerS wrote on 3/10/2022, 5:47 AM

Did you try half the bitrate, or even better, the default values for VCE? Start with that and let me know if it works.

For MediaInfo, try showing the view with all the info, not the summary. Instructions: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

Test wrote on 3/10/2022, 6:43 AM

I try half the bitrate and that working but default values for VCE not work and give file size zero and if bitrate is high that make file show have 2 audio but have only 1 audio and 1 video.

Anyone else have a slow updater? My update has been going since 10AM and capped at 1mbps on Win11.

Yep, I have a 1Gb/s connection in the UK and am getting about 100Kb/s then the updater progress just disappears.....would rather have a direct download link.

@Dexcon thanks for checking that out.
Yes my computer made the requirements, no problems anywhere else, have the latest version of windows at all times.

You're not suggesting this isn't happening or that it's my incompetence that causes the menu error in vegas 19 though😉?
This has been around for a several months now, I was hoping that even if it was some installation error, the major update would have fully reinstalled a new version of Vegas so anything broken in that process would be gone.
Some dev should know, it must be something fixable, like in the internal settings. I wouldn't know what to look for there, even.

gary-rebholz wrote on 3/10/2022, 11:05 AM

There is no "menu error" that we know of. This is what happens when your monitor size/scaling/resolution combination does not allow the full menu to be shown. I'd assume you'd rather we did this than simply cut the part that won't fit off with no way to get to it.

Now, if you are convinced that there really is an error (and I fully accept that you could have found something we don't know about), then please leave the implied insults to the team's competance behind and open a support ticket so we can actually help you.

  • Why does my menu still look like this?
I have to click repeatedly on thee arrow to get to whatever is below it.
I was really hoping this ' major update' would have fixed this glaring anomaly.
This horror never happened in any version of vegas before even back in the early Sony days.
It makes me question Magix' competence.

I'm not seeing that. Latest build, Windows 11.

Are you running at an extra high DPI/scaling setting or something? Just unexciting 1920x1200 here.

But I will say the update COMPLETELY wiped out my painstakingly customized screen layout (spread over 3 monitors) which I, apparently, had neglected to manually save.

This may be a quick answer from someone. But I get "You are currently logged out. Please log into VEGAS Hub to continue." I just installed the 532 Update and am trying to restart a project that I was editing yesterday. I have never used the Hub before now. Hmmm

Have you tried to restart your project as before? You only need to log in to the Hub if you want to use the Hub.

RonB_USA wrote on 3/10/2022, 4:54 PM

Thank you. Yes. I have started the program from (1) the VEG file and (2) from Open as Administrator. Either way I get a message in the upper left that reads: You are currently logged out. Please log into VEGAS Hub to continue.

I guess that I will reinstall. Is that your recommendation?

@VEGASDerek - Never ever seen this before with any download from any official VegasPro website:

There is something odd that even WITH that Security "s" as in https this download is still being blocked:

Please advise as to what VegasSoftware is doing about this, and, what I should do?

Same here.

Nope, I have more that half the screen completely devoid of menu,
Interesting though, I made a screen capture to prove this which led to a culprit.
Vegas is not communicating its size properly.

I have two screens, one 1080 the other 4k.
I capture on the cintiq (1080) the menu worked fine
Then I moved Vegas to the offending 4k screen which displays the error.
The capture did not snip the whole screen, interestingly only down to the bottom of the menu.
Something is definitely strange and it's only happening in vegas @ 4k

If Vegas needs some special combinations of scaling then dev should put this up somewhere.
I've tried tickets and I just received insults ,denials and soooo many hoops myself, that's why I am here.
It is very unclear if there are any dev even lurking here I was hoping for community help.
If dev talk here they can fob me off in public.

RogerS wrote on 3/10/2022, 8:08 PM

Chuzz, there are developers here, so try not to insult them if you want them to help you. The Vegas project lead just responded to you personally.

If you have monitors with different resolutions did you try checking use alternate high DPI settings in preferences/display? Is high dpi scaling checked? If you have Windows increase text size, try to keep it at 125% or less or it will cut things off in Vegas.

Can't render amd vce 2160p using asus tuf rx 6800 xt card and using vegas pro 19 build 532 same problem earlier build too and this not working any amd drivers (22.2.3 or 21.Q4). Files come useless. Render time not be working any build vegas pro 19.

@Test Thanks for all the details. Two questions- is your operating system in Finnish?

Do you have an AMD CPU and integrated GPU? Do check help/driver update and if you have any Radeon driver you can update try that.

I'm seeing other users with non English versions of Windows also having issues with rendering but your issue may be a little different if it works with lower bitrates.

VEGAS Pro 19 Update 4 (Build 532) has been released.

Please give us your feedback in this thread.

For a list of changes and new features in this update, please refer to our official announcement.

To help you learn how to use the new features, download the feature description document.

This is a simple request... I would like to update but I cannot wait around for it to download on startup. Can you provide a download link? Or something that perhaps downloads the files then updates on shutdown of the program? I'm sitting here for the software to try and download the update but your servers are VERY slow. It would be one thing if it could download in a few minutes but I'm sitting waiting to use the software and finish my work for 20 even 30 minutes and it's still not done downloading so each time I've been bypassing the download / update.

I probably have a dozen or more fixes I'd like to see in your next version of Vegas and or an update. The software has come a long ways since you bought it at Magix. However, some of these are seriously annoying me. I started at Version 10 and have bought nearly every upgrade since. You have AWESOME hardware and codec support. However, these pesky quirks in the user interface persist. I'd LOVE to see them addressed.

Explorer pane:

- It hangs a lot or won't allow me to switch folders under certain use conditions. I'd write a list of them but if you simply PLAY with it for a while you'll discover many of them.

- Upon deleting a file it refreshes the entire directory. Then I have to scroll back down to where I was in the folder. Seems minor but when you're reviewing 40 or 50 clips for a project and getting rid of the bad clips, then that time adds up.

- Would be nice but certainly not necessary if I could move / sort media into folders in a project.

Video FX:

- You added a favorites tab which is AWESOME. I really like that. However, I have no way to set that as the default tab. Again I do a lot of projects and simple little things like putting favorites as a default tab save me time. I'm always looking to save time at work.

- A search on filters is VERY slow to respond. I'm not sure why, but presume you're using a inefficient sort algorithm to search filters. I believe these filters, FX, etc are in a system of files and folders in the Vegas program folder. I can search much faster using windows file search on the folder so why couldn't I search at least as fast in the Video FX search box? I'm a software developer, and think you could even find an open source algorithm to call instead of what you're currently using that would be faster than the current algorithm employed.

RogerS wrote on 3/11/2022, 2:47 AM

Hi Test, thank you. You don't have Radeon Graphics then and if you aren't using the iGPU you don't need to worry about that driver either. All you need is a recent AMD Pro/Enterprise driver if you can find that but I don't think it will help in this case.
