VEGAS Pro 19 Update 4 (Build 550)

@michael-harrison exactly that. Disappeared. I had it docked and saved as Windows Layout. It's not there when I select it. I had to add OtterInfoBar to the toolbar for it to appear in it's previous place.

I opened VP18 to make sure everything was still there and it was. The docked OtterInfoBar was not docked in VP19 after the update.

still slow in doing an initial search with VideoFX, etc....

This. Still. Has been an issue for me in 14, 17, and 19. A bit better in 18 (I rechecked all today).

Since updating a few hours ago, Vegas Pro 19 is hanging during editing, specifically when using an fx window.

Is there a way to fall back to the previous build?

Anyone else have a slow updater? My update has been going since 10AM and capped at 1mbps on Win11.

It was awful for me, 3.5 hours to download then failed anyway. Direct download from Magix took seconds.

I downloaded the "feature description document" but I didn't see any documentation on how to use the new "speech to text" feature (only the older "text to speech").

Is there any documentation or a video on how to use "speech to text"? If so, can you point me to it. Thanks.

@johnnyrr Derek has updated the link just now. Please try it.

@Derek I just reviewed the updated doc with the "speech to text" addition (pgs 56 & 57 for anyone interested). I should be able to figure it out now. Thanks for the quick response!

MagicYUV reversal issue appears to be fixed for me:

@VEGASDerek - Never ever seen this before with any download from any official VegasPro website:

There is something odd that even WITH that Security "s" as in https this download is still being blocked:

Please advise as to what VegasSoftware is doing about this, and, what I should do?

@VEGAS_CommunityManager - Please address the issue I posted above.

Unfortunately, also by me.

I imported two avchd mp4 video (1080/50p), paired as 3d video add 3d adjust fx and some color correction.
While playing with the parameters in FX window Vegas just freeze in 1-2 minutes :(

Never happened in Vegas11.

I got this crash just now, but can't be sure whether it's from VEGAS or the latest AMD graphic driver 22.2.3. I even couldn't capture the screen. I shot an image.

@NickHope - Whilst I thank you for your assistance with the Links, the link that VegasSoftware has supplied does have the https. I realise you’re not in a position to answer this, as you don’t work for VegasSoftware, but what is going on?

NickHope wrote on 3/10/2022, 1:02 AM

@Grazie All the news announcement links point to https://rdir.magix.net/ which redirects to the actual downloads. I don't know why they do that. Maybe it's for tracking where downloads are coming from. I don't know how their redirection software works but just because that link uses https, it doesn't mean that the links it points to can't be plain http URLs.

Something strange is going on with the particular link in the news forum, but all of the above links work cleanly for me. If you're concerned then maybe let VP19 do an in-app update itself, or use the VP19 installation program ('dlm') from the VEGAS Service Center.

Phil_P wrote on 3/10/2022, 1:10 AM

@Reyfox what do you mean by "disappeared?"

Working fine for me after updating

If HOS was saved as part of your own Window Layout it had disappeared, But it was just a matter of having to find the relevant OtterBar in the View>Extensions menu and open it again then resave the layout.

Grazie wrote on 3/10/2022, 1:18 AM

@NickHope - As always, thanks for your transparency in your replies, and your comment regarding:

Something strange is going on with the particular link in the news forum,

Indeed. As you can imagine, you’ve known me long enough, if something isn’t Grazie-Proof…. I squeal. 😉

I’m now proceeding with your advice to use the in-app “Major program update”. It’s lethargic, not the normal zippy downloading.

Grazie wrote on 3/10/2022, 1:21 AM

@NickHope - Still dling. I’m going to plant a forest of Sequoias Trees and watch them grow and maybe….

@Phil_P I think I posted that somewhere else, that all I had to do is click on the OtterInfoBar and it appeared again.

It was a note saying that it wasn't there and that using my saved Windows didn't bring it back either.

That and searching VideoFX, etc.. still takes a while....

Last changed by Reyfox on 3/10/2022, 3:58 AM, changed a total of 1 times.

  • Why does my menu still look like this?
I have to click repeatedly on thee arrow to get to whatever is below it.
I was really hoping this ' major update' would have fixed this glaring anomaly.
This horror never happened in any version of vegas before even back in the early Sony days.
It makes me question Magix' competence.

If you have 365 Hub is critical for stock media, voice to text, etc. I stay logged in.

For the UX issue you can make a feature request. To me it's a minor annoyance.

vkmast wrote on 3/10/2022, 4:33 AM

@Chuzz feel free to make a feature request on how to solve your issue #2.

Chuzz. wrote on 3/10/2022, 4:37 AM

Feature request?

They totally hobbled the UX, the menu is cut in half and we have to click multiple times to scroll?
Are you suggesting they did this on purpose?
No it's an error, a bug, a complete mistake, unless they mean to sabotage the user.
It should have been fixed in the patch

Common sense is leaving the building.
