For black windows and errors in the rendered video, it helps me to change the number of threads to 1 in the Preferences window. Everything else, such as Dram and gpu, is active.
BUG: I'd mentioned that double clicking on a wav for or a folder NAME no longer opens that (or drops it into the trimmer), it prepares for RENAMING that file or folder and then it takes up to 20 seconds to get back in control and be able to do anything...but now adding this:
BUG: Often, after dragging things from the EXPLORER window to a track (audio, for example), upon returning to the same EXPLORER window, it's visible (the window) however it's empty and you can't refresh. WORKAROUND: close the EXPLORER window by clicking the x, then reload your view (for me, i have many window view presets, so I just hit for example ALT D #). This brings the EXPLORER window back and it's populated and you can drag items to the timeline. But it's a bug cuz it happens all day long and slows me down ya know?
BUG: auto FX window resizing cannot be turned off, even tho there is an option for it in GENERAL PREFS. This is really slowing me down.
BUG? Occasionally, for no particular reason Vegas 20 just stops moving at normal speed, in reference to opening windows, dragging media onto a track, opening up RENDER AS, etc. Feels like Windows is super sluggish, but restarting Vegas often fixes this.
note: for the past 3-4 months, I've noticed that Windows 10, after booting the PC, has the C: drive at 100% usage any where from a couple of minutes, to 30 minutes. I have researched this and it's something Windows is doing in the b/g, even tho I've paused updates and followed other suggestions. It's just awful, whatever MSFT is doing. They say you can continue working, but not really, especially on a Vegas project with plugins and video, etc. I wonder if some of the Vegas 20 issues can be blamed on Microsoft's constant updates and background services stealing resources. jmm
Does Vegas Pro 20 work BETTER in Windows 11? As in - would I get better performance or benefit somehow if I upgraded, or is it simply compatible with Windows 11? Thank you!
I literally edit every day all day in Vegas - so downtime isn't really an option - so just being cautious. :)
@RogerS I wonder what's causing it on my system. So if you resize the window manually, so that you can see more than the actual plugin and then click over to another plugin in that chain, the outer windows stays big?

We have not reproduced this problem. Is anyone else seeing this? The preference seems to be working as we would expect it would.
@VEGASDerek I have more info now. I finally had time to experiment. If I have only Vegas plugins, then the autosizing works as it should. If I have any WAVES or Izotope (both are all VST2, 64bit) then once you click any of those in your chain, it resizes to its shape/size. If you click onto any VEGAS plugin, the box stays where it was. Is there something I can turn on in the Waves/Izotope plugs as a workaround?
@JMacSTL Can you give me a couple standard Fx you are using and I'll check them.
What I see is that it doesn't get bigger or smaller. Change it for one (make it bigger) and the outer window stays the same for all of them. (checked levels, white balance, colorfast, NeatVideo)
I added one extra Vegas plugin to my chain so I could show that going from one of them to the other maintains the windows size, but clicking on the Izotope or Waves plugs causes the window to resize. I verified beforehand that I have the Enable Auto FX Window Resizing unchecked. See photo for verification of that. btw: I couldn't use WIndows 10 screen capture, b/c it recorded everything BUT the plugins. I could see my mouse move around the screen tho. Weird. So I used my phone to rec. this video. jmm
@VEGASDerek@JMacSTL Indeed it is an issue, I can concur, FX window resizing setting is ignored on audio for Audio OFX such as Izotope RX10 (vst3) plugins. It does work OK as intended on video plugins on the video part.
Vegas 20 360 is so nice to work in, so good features and workflow, thanks to you developers. But it does crash too often. Soon two months since launch. When is the first update coming? And will it aim at resolving stability issues?
I'm not allowed to say when, but soon... and yes, it does resolve a lot of issues that were present in the release build, makes further improvements to some things the first build greatly improved upon over VEGAS 19, and it also adds some VERY long-awaited new features that significantly extend the usability and versatility of other features already in VEGAS. Many users will be pleased with this update.

We have been moving feverishly to get the update complete. It has been delayed a few times because of issues we have found during beta testing. We had some very poor updates for VEGAS Pro 19 which required emergency patches. We are trying to avoid that pattern. I can say that a large number of users are going to be very happy with this update once it is released. Right now we are trying to make sure it is as rock solid as possible before we give it to customers. Hopefully in a couple weeks.

All subscriptions auto-renew unless you email magix (it was either sales@magix.com or store@magix.com, something like that, forgive my bad memory, another mod or staffer will come along and correct me soon, I'm sure).
Do you fix the 360° Render-Bug?
That goes beyond my ability to disclose, but as Derek says:

I know I've never been as excited about a VEGAS update... some of these new features are game changers, things the community has been asking for a long time now.

Sounds great! Even though I feel I can't wait, please take your time. Quality here is more important than haste. Looking forward to it.

Thank you so much, I think I finally found the right forum. I'm a long-time owner of all of the original Sonic Foundry Products which became Sony Products, which became MAGIX products.
Earlier this year I received an email announcing the deal to upgrade to Vegas Pro 19. It had some additional software bundled with the deal. I Bought that Update. Then Later this year I received another email that was for an upgrade for Vegas Pro that had a different bundle attached and it looked to me like a different deal. I bought that and found out it was only an update to Vegas Pro 19 which I already purchased earlier this year. I asked If I could get a credit for an additional product as I bought this Vegas Pro 19 Update TWICE this Year. I was told NO because it was a different bundle. Never mind I could care less about the Bundle, I wanted the latest version of Vegas Pro. Ok. So Now they have come out with a Vegas Pro 20. All I'm asking is they upgrade my account with a Vegas Pro 10 License as I DID Pay Twice for Vegas Pro Upgrades This Year. It used to be that if you purchased an update in a single year if they came out with a new one you got the Upgrade at No Additional Cost. I'm not sure if they are doing that anymore or not but I did purchase Two Upgrades this year. Where's the Love?

Fixed the Typo. I obviously meant an update to Vegas Pro 20.
