Vegas pro crashes everytime I click the 'render' button

I am aware this issue has been raised before.

But I have spent a total of three days on this issue and it is beginning to annoy me, this is my last hope.

The error details are bellow, and something to consider, projects which I have successfully rendered in the past are refusing to render now so that shows it isn't because of the source file, although if you're wondering, I use the iPhone format (not HVEC or whatever, I use the compatibility option)

I rendered a project successfully just 2 weeks ago, but now it is refusing to work. I'll attach a screencap of the project right before it crashes but I don't think it'll be of any significance.

@JoshiStitic - It was my choice, so don’t apologise 😉. The thing is I/we enjoy solving puzzles, solving being the very best outcome. Regarding it NOT being the Media, I disagree. think that the Media activated, as you, a subroutine to install a CODEC. Installing CODECS is a risky business and can prove to be happening at a low level system configuration. Any chance you could do a System Restore, earlier than your ingesting that Media?

Er I don't think system restore is really an option cuz i have multiple accounts on this computer, It'll be complicated, but I mean I used to use things like MOV and even HEVC but now it won't accept anything.It all happened so suddenly, like i said just a couple weeks ago it was working just fine.

Other thing... any chance that you (or other users) probably installing something or Windows doing update in these 2 weeks after you successfully render the project?

OP said right before that post of you that also only a checkerboard rendering crashes the program.

@JoshiStitic - Really?! Now you tell us..... OK. Ensure your DOT net framework is up to date. Also, do research on the this Forum any issues with this latest Windoze Update.

@j-v - Yes CB is Media. My point I was making was that @JoshiStitic didn’t believe it was the Media and I was suggesting that that Media, CB or ANY Media would start any CODEC issue. Having fought my way through the vagaries of @JoshiStitic Render Histories I was hoping to clarify this. Unfortunately, with your good self, @j-v, I failed miserably! 🙏

BEHOLD: THE SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM

After literally days of work, I have found the problem. My goddamn graphics card driver.

I updated recently cuz one of the games I used to play was lagging quite a bit. I decided I should just try to undo all the changes that i made to computer in the past couple weeks, and I started with this. Guess what? It worked. The render dialogue showed up and I am now rendering perfectly. Apparently Vegas pro doesn't like updated graphics card drivers.

And you could specify the graphics card and driver(s) in question. Might help in further discussions on similar issues. Anyway, excellent that you found your solution. 👍
