@joelsonforte.br Hmmm yeah, if that effect is added to the Media FX it doesn't work

but added to the Event FX it does 🤷‍♂️

@joelsonforte.br Interesting that if you add another effect to the Media FX chain the sync button does activate but doesn't work 😂

A full embrace of Windows 11 for Vegas Pro 19 should be high on the list for the development team by the last build. Features and old bugs be damned.

Project Notes - clicking on the "Add a Note" consistently crashes Vegas 19 Pro for me. Where do I correctly post the problem?

Thanks for adding the Speech to Text feature. But I can't create a box inside the text because only the title and text are inserted. Please improve Speech to text so that you can put a background inside the text like a prototype titler.

The ability to easily lock an entire track at the track header. A "padlock" that you can click "on or off" would work fine.

It feels just great to come back to more frequent visits in this forum and to see this level of detail and workflow desired enhancements.
In my case, stayed at v14 all along while coming once in a while to witness, years ago the developers and the community many times struggling to get past the then chaotic codec and hardware variations being available and released at those times. Something that from the distance around v17 could be perceived as starting to converge into an equilibrium, dynamic still but better at handling diverse functional requests. Since I was having no issues with my basic usage (I work with audio mostly) skipped upgrades.

Now with some good relevant features being accumulated throughout the versions, together with a comparatively accessible march upgrade offer for V19, I decided to upgrade. With only days timidly installing and watching around, am just starting to become familiar with some of the many! novelties, also including Boris FXs, titler, Primate, etc.

So, I'll keep watching the requests in this thread to see where VEGAS is heading. Responsiveness is now one of its treasured traits and this vocal community its partnering companion. Great Regards to all here.

🔺 Bugs and suggestions 🔺:

- You still cannot rename an already saved Filter Pack, needing to delete and save again if you want to change the name.

- When I move a Package from the Plug-In Manager to an event, the interface gets glitches.

- Interface is not yet fully responsive.
Dark theme but still remains clear.

- Alpha files made in Vegas, whether they are .AVI or .MOV will not work in Premiere. This is a big problem for collaboration in an agency. (I don't know if it's you, or Adobe I should talk to)

📣 Let's talk a little more about the Filter Pack. 💭
Some ideas.

- A good idea would be to be able to apply more than one package in one event, it could have an "apply/replace or add" option. Example: I want to apply a package, so I select it and click apply or double click if I clicked on the wrong package I can double click on the right one and it will replace it as it already is.
The "add" option would be for something like: I have a package where I did a keyframe animation with picture in picture but I also want to use a color correction package, so I could use two packages by clicking on "add" then the two effects would be applied to the event.

There are a lot of things that can be improved in the Filter Package and it is one of the resources that I use the most nowadays. It makes the work much faster.

- I have several package keyframe animations made with picture in picture, could there be a specific tool just for this, because I make some animations of custom elements entries, Example: A lower third entering and leaving the screen. So I could save the entry animation and the exit animation separately, then I could apply only the entry animation and enlarge the lower third for the time I would need it on screen and then apply the exit animation. Currently whenever I need to resize the event that I am using the animation for, I need to move all the keyframes to the end of the event, so the output gets the correct time.

🔺 List of things to urgently add to Vegas (In order of importance) 🔺:

- Adjustment Layers (It really disappointed me that you guys just made something official that you could already do in the previous version. We want an event that modifies the events below NOT THE WHOLE TIMELINE! This is not practical)
- Animation graphics (possibility to better handle keyframe animations)
- Multiple Timelines in the same project
- Improve Nested (Like, you can take any project and drop it inside another and it works fine, currently it STILL has problems with the image, a certain trace, ghost effect.... whatever)
- The possibility to be able to change the color of events individually, not the timeline (Don't need to change but give the possibility)

Yes, these ideas come directly from Adobe Premiere, but they are very useful items, and make a lot of difference in choosing which program to use. I've been using Vegas for 10 years, but knowing that the neighboring program has all these features makes me want to migrate. And many of my friends have stopped using Vegas because of the lack of these features as well.

But I am very pleased with the evolution Vegas is having from version 10 to now.

And that's all folks... 😉✌️

This is just a little-ish issue, but I have a lot of renders that can run beyond 24 hours. What I've noticed is that the render stats display doesn't actually contain a "days" position, nor do the hours count above 24, so a render that takes 1 day, 2 hours, 35 minutes only shows as 2 hours, 35 minutes.

This may sound trivial, but when doing troubleshooting/optimizing, being able to screenshot those values accurately is a help, as it would be for long-unattended renders.

"Simple" solution: don't have the render time roll over at 24 hours, but instead keep counting, and give it a 3rd digit position. I don't see a need for a literal days column; the expanded hours column would be more useful.

That makes sense and might be easy to implement.

I think there would have to be a new column:

0:00:00:00:000

Time formatting is picky like that.

And then only if the render doesn't roll over into the next millennium...

;?)

I'm not sure that I'll have to worry about Y3K problems, but Y2K was a bit of a fizzer given the hysteria that preceded the change to the current millennium.

Sorry, not sure if this is the right place to post this.

I have used Vegas Pro 15 & 16 for a while now, and even tried out 19 and these... things are still there: or not there. Just want to propose some changes from an audio editing perspective. I tried looking up ways top fix these or do work arounds, so if I missed something, I am sorry.

- Bypass all VST effects: There needs to be a button to Disable/Enable all VST effects both in the Track effects window and individual track window. This is a common button in any other NLE/DAW. Yes you can individually click each one, but makes it really annoying for checking before and after. This would be a simple, yet huge improvement. Including this button on the Visible Button Set would be cool too.

- Categorize VST effects: A system where VST plugins can be sorted by category would be really nice. For example, group channel strips, compressors, limiters, etc. Even custom categorization. For someone like me who has a lot of plugins, just seeing a window with them all listed can be daunting sometimes when trying to find a plugin of a certain type. If I am looking for a compressor for example, I either need to have a specific plugin in mind, or I need to read a long list of plugins, not just compressors, to find one that I want for a specific situation. I know there is the folder system, but I don't think it is user friendly.

- Sidechaining/Ducking: Incorporate the ability to do side chaining. In my use cases, I would love this feature for ducking other audio tracks for voice over. As far as I am aware, the only way to do this is to manually automate volume levels. Sidechaining would make this soooo much faster. And open up other possibilities for audio effects.

- VST3 Compatibility: Not sure of the technical implications of this one, but yeah. Isn't the industry standard now VST3? Adding VST3 would greatly reduce CPU resources when a plugin is inactive and make things more optimized. This would be great for muting and soloing tracks. I am not an expert in it. Everything I know is from articles like this: https://www.musicianwave.com/vst2-vst3-differences/. All I do know, is that there are some plugin effects that only come as VST3. But I can't use them unless I use an external editor.

- Decrease Audio Processing Latency: Not sure of the technical implications of this either. I feel like there has been little improvement on the audio processing side of Vegas Pro over the years. I mean I don't have the greatest computer in the world, but it is pretty beefy. That being said, I still encounter latency issues where audio is processed on delay. Sometimes, when I have the plugin interface active while playing, the audio will cut out completely because it cannot keep up. VST3 compatibility might help? I posted a Forum question on this as well: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vst-plugin-feedback-delayed-about-1-second-latency-issue--135159/

- WAVES Plugins no longer support Vegas: I know they are a different company, but is there a technical reason they cannot support Vegas anymore? Can that be fixed? They only support Vegas up to waves version 9.6. They are on 13 or something now.

- Improve stock Vegas VSTs: This one might be taken care of already in newer versions but here it goes anyway. The plugins work fine as is (not saying some added features wouldn't be appreciated ;P), I'm more talking more about aesthetics. I am looking at the XF2 plugins which may not even be supported any more? I also got the eFX plugins which may be a leftover of the Vegas 19 trial I had? Do they replace the XF2? Anyway, the eFX plugins look fine, but if the XF2 plugins (if they are even used in the recent version) look way out of date. Especially compared to any of the many third party plugins out there.

Adding a few more to my audio editing suggestions above.

- Integrated way to monitor Loudness: Need some sort of way to measure, meter, correct, and adjust for various broadcasting standards for different platforms such as youtube, spotify, and etc. This is just one of many examples: WLM Loudness Meter. I feel like this would go a long way especially with all of the streaming and youtube video production. I currently need to use third party plugins for this.

- Built in Voice De-Noise: There are a few plugins that do this already; one of my favorites being Izotope RX9, but there are built in alternatives in other programs such as the Noise Suppression Filter in OBS studio as well (and its free). The video noise reduction is impressive, but some of the most important aspects of video have to do with sound. If you have bad sound, no one will take you seriously.

- A simpler way to record in Mono/Stereo: I know how to do it; its just not very intuitive and I feel like it should be easier to do than define left or right channels. If I am recording, I should be able to select if I want to record in mono or stereo without have to dig through settings. Should be easer to find and possibly different nomenclature.

Automatic File duplication - Feature/Request

My biggest problem when editing with several editors is that I need to be constantly aware that both side need to be using same file structure and assets. Otherwise, you will be seeing missing file error.

I usually have a dedicated folder that contain all of the assets I use like Overlays, SFX, music, stock videos and more. And I usually drag and drop it via Explorer tab in VEGAS Pro (Set it as Fav for quick access).

Problem is, ur main media (Videos from camera that is saved and organized in a HDD/Folder) is stored somewhere else, and the asset u use is from diff location. So during the editing process, I need to manually find the file and compile before sending to another editor. This is tedious.

My suggestion, is to create a feature that allow user to set the "Parent Folder" or just simply use the VEG location as the "Parent destination), so any foreign media that is imported into the timeline that is not coming from the "Parent" folder, VEGAS will automatically copy and paste the file and relink it afterward. All of these process done in BG.

I am philosophically and functionally opposed to any application moving files around on my machines. I'm equally annoyed at applications making the installation default save location on their "cloud" drive.

This option should be activated by the user per project if they wanted too, not by default, So no forcing over here.

There is no NLE at the moment that can auto copy & paste file in BG to minimize wasted storage spaces.

If your main media in HDD A, and assets on HDD B, and u "archive" the project in HDD A, it will triple the storage size.

The archive function is not smart enuf to see which foreign file should it copy or not.
