You may upgrade to Vegas Pro 14 at reduced price here:
Vegas Pro Edit:    http://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/newsletter/special-offer/vegas-pro-14-edit/
Vegas Pro:   http://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/newsletter/special-offer/vegas-pro-14/
Vegas Pro Suite:    http://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/newsletter/special-offer/vegas-pro-14-suite/

This came from support just now.

It would appear that prices are same to upgrade from v13 as it is for v12. I upgraded from v12 to v13 in 2014 for $249 and from v13 to v13 suite in 2015 for a further 183 UK Pounds (whatever that was in dollars then) so arguably this is very expensive considering I could have waited and saved myself a ton of cash - if only I knew. With the US$ to UK£ being pretty low (or high depending where you are) this is a very expensive upgrade.

Tried going on the German site to perhaps purchase in Euros (replaced the "us" in the URL with "de") but there is no upgrade path. Same for UK site. I have asked support why so expensive and also if any alternative upgrade sites for each area rather than just from the US site.

Nick Hope asked -- Are you sure this is an upgrade and not an introductory offer? Does it actually say "upgrade"

The title of the email is "VEGAS Upgrade" so I'd say yes, it is an upgrade offer ;-) Here's a snip of the message showing the VEGAS 14 Pro offer (hopefully they don't mind me posting it).

@Nick, sorry I mislead you and others with that initial post.  I did edit the post with a correction, but you obviously linked before I made the correction.

@jdw, the title of my email is 'The brand new VEGAS Pro 14 - save up to $450 today', it was from 'VEGAS Upgrade <news@vegas.magix.net>, and it did have the word 'upgrade' once in the body of the email referencing the offer is valid until September 27th, 2016.

When I followed the option to buy, it took me to the shopping cart for Vegas Pro 14 at $249.  I didn't go past that point, but up to that point there wasn't anything about a previous version or a requirment to enter a serial number.

I really apologize for posting incorrectly in that other thread and misleading members, it's not what I intended to do, and obviously I jumped to quickly to post the email information.

It still seems a bit odd for the pricing of $249, considering the July/August offer was for v13+free v14 was $199, if in fact those who purchased that deal get Vegas Pro 14, rather than the Vegas Pro 14 Edit.  And that deal was followed by a post from Magix advising current v13 owners to hang on for a deal coming when v14 is released.  At this point I wouldn't consider it a deal.

Best Regards......George

My email was in response to a question specifically asking about upgrades and from what version to what version including stating I am in the UK. It was responded to by their Support Manager in Germany and his email states it is an upgrade offer valid until 27th September.

Eagle Six wrote on 9/21/2016, 4:01 PM

@jxb, yes I understand your email came from support, as you stated.  I was posting in reference to the email I received which goes to the same web pages with the same deal as you linked to.  I agree it is an expensive upgrade in comparison to the earlier July/August deal.  Hopefully Magix will respond to your request, "I have asked support why so expensive and also if any alternative upgrade sites for each area rather than just from the US site" with a favorable reply.

Best Regards.....George

Problem is I never received any earlier email from either SCS or Magix even though a long time customer of Vegas Pro and all my software correctly registered with SCS & email address up to date. If I do receive a further email will post here.

I understand, you are in the same boat with many others, most of whom are in countries other than the US.  Apparently Magix has never fully (or maybe not even half-ly) got their arms around the emails of the user base.  After taking a quick look at Vegas Pro 14, I think the development team has done a much better job than the rest of Magix corp.

I cant be 100% till i get back to the office i thought last upgrade offer when i jumped from 11 to 13 was around $100. Well i guess someone has to pay for the buy out. With mainly bug fixes and a few new features i can live without the Dragon says "I'm out"

Ps i never got the offer either for 13 plus 14 maybe i wasnt entitled as i already had 13

Like many of you, I also went for the VP13+free VP14 bundle offer from Magix - but haven't received any message (not to mention my v.14 serial number) yet.

After my first look at VP 14 trial, I glad Decklink 4K Extreme I have purchased lately for Resolve, now can also be used with Vegas Pro in UHD mode (it used to only support FHD in VP 13). However - while the option "use 10-bit encoding" sort of worked before, albeit with up to 1080/25p resolution - now prevent Decklink from displaying anything. of course I'm trying it with 32-bit float settings of my Projects, and with 10bit, 422 footage from my FS7... I wonder whether this is just a teething problem, or 10 bit is not going to be supported, or something else has to be changed in Vegas Pro 14 settings/ preferences to enable 10-bit processing... Hints, anyone?

I wish MAGIX would stop using the word "upgrade". As far as I can tell, everything offered so far has been simply an "offer" and not an "upgrade". Normally an "upgrade" would be linked to validated ownership of a previous product.

I suspect it has proved too much of a technical challenge for MAGIX to link true upgrades to ownership of previous Sony licenses on a tight timescale, so this is the best they could do. But the whole strategy and communication of these offers has been a disappointing mess.

What happens now if you try and upgrade VEGAS Pro at https://support2.magix.com/customer/vegas/upgrade . Is it this same $199/$249/$349 deal?

Also, was the $199 [VP13-upgrade + VP14] offer for VEGAS Pro or VEGAS Pro Edit?

Also, how to subscribe to news@vegas.magix.net? I've never had anything from them. Only from news@magix.net

I've subsibed the Sony Newsletter and also Magix Newsletter and get the Newsletter about the 199$ (€) offer from news@vegas.magix.net.
And this offer was definitely for VEGAS Pro 14

am somewhat underwhelmed with what i've read about 14.
13 has been working fairly well and to be honest i'm not willing to shell out anything for a bunch of bug fixes -  what i expected at a minimum was some attention to the pathetic state of gpu implementation as a first step, and whilst i applaud the introduction of READ ONLY prores, that's not enough for the price of admission...

it looks like i'll stick with my present workflow of fast cutting with vegas 13 and finishing with resolve. should magix bring 15 up to speed then i might have a look at it, but by that time i think with their present updating bm's resolve might well take over as my all in one nle....

+1 for everything in that post. This is what happens now if I try to upgrade Sony Vegas Pro 13.

Instead of $349 as from the Magix link they sent me, now shows as $299 which tad better but I am not sure the upgrade is worth it unless anyone can convince me.

NickHope wrote on 9/22/2016, 4:00 AM

So seems like $50 cheaper than the other upgrades/offers that they've offered by email and pages like http://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/newsletter/special-offer/vegas-pro-14/ . I'm assuming then that an "upgrade" via https://support2.magix.com/customer/vegas/upgrade to VEGAS Pro 14 Edit would therefore be $149. Can anyone confirm?

NickHope wrote on 9/22/2016, 4:02 AM

Or possibly/probably it varies depending on what the serial number you enter is for, which is how it should work.

vkmast wrote on 9/22/2016, 4:27 AM

I just again entered the SONY Vegas Pro 13 (not Pro Edit) serial number and got  a "special offer" to "upgrade" to MAGIX Vegas Pro 13 for $199. Same as my previous screenshot. No VPro 14 in sight.

NickHope wrote on 9/22/2016, 4:49 AM

Thanks. I missed the "13" in your screenshot. Best not to advise anyone to upgrade from there then, until we have clarification from MAGIX.

NormanPCN wrote on 9/22/2016, 11:54 AM

Same here. No upgrade email yet. I'm in the US. If I enter my serial # into the web "upgrade" form it only offers an upgrade to VP13. I already have VP13 and the serial # entered was a V13 serial #.

NickHope wrote on 9/22/2016, 12:08 PM

These are the upgrade offers I got a couple of hours ago via https://support2.magix.com/customer/vegas/upgrade , after entering a Sony Vegas Pro 13.0 serial number (regular, not Edit or Suite):

Paul-Fierlinger wrote on 9/22/2016, 12:20 PM

I got these a couple a days ago but have you tried the shopping cart? It wouldn't take me anywhere... the image was frozen.

Marco. wrote on 9/22/2016, 1:52 PM

"Also Marco, do you have contact with the people who wrote "SeMW Extensions" and the "Show Recording Data" extension? Would be great to get updates for those."

Just got a response. The author of SeMW extensions plans updating "SeMW Extensions" to work with VP14 (his OFX plug-ins "Auto Levels" und "Graide Color Match" still work fine in VP14).

jkerry wrote on 9/22/2016, 5:50 PM

OK, openned Vegas and got a popup about upgrading to 14, but without a serial number how are we tro update????????
