Worried about what janndk? Magix Video Pro X is a prosumer NLE and has nowhere near the third party support of Vegas nor many of its advanced and flexible features and implementations.

If you are gonna worry, worry about Video Pro X being replaced by Vegas Pro!. So quit your worrying.... Man, i remember seeing similar comments like this going back in the Sony Vegas Pro 12 days, users worried about the future of Vegas, and back then i kept leaving many comments saying Vegas isn't going nowhere.... Can't believe we are now at version 19 and Vegas is on solid grounds more than ever before and still this argument finds some way of sneaking in.

As i said ten years ago under the rule of Sony Vegas Pro 12 and saying it again to you now janndk, " Vegas pro isn't going anywhere " !

I do think VPX's development effort should be spent helping team VEGAS develop new features, I don't think there's a need for a pro-sumer level editor... beginner or pro should be all we need. Offer the ability to augment both with new features to target the in-betweens and beyond.

I hope that VEGAS Pro 19 will be able to handle relative file path to LUT Files like .\..\..\myLut.cube This would make porting projects to another computer much easier....

Aaron Stanley, that you?

What's the "H" for? Hub?

And the "V"?

I'm willing to bet one of those will take you to an online store for access to online content. Possible V for video content?

We saw something similar implemented in Acid. A direct link within the program to purchase additional media content. Don't recall ever seeing anyone make that type of feature request, but here it is as a new highlighted feature just in case you feel like doing a little shopping during your creation activities. Don't really know many that do video editing inside of Acid to drive the need for an entire video section store just for Acid, so pretty certain that video section store wasn't developed just for Acid Pro users and will likely be coming to a new Vegas version near you. Got the beta testing for it completed in Acid for the Vegas implementation. ;)

All still fitting that common development theme of closer integration with 3rd party developers/content providers and enhancements to existing features is all I'm seeing. I'm going to hit the snooze button on the alarm for now.

I doubt anything from Acid is coming to Vegas. I don't really see evidence of integration between product lines on Magix's part. Too bad as Soundforge/Vegas in particular should have real synergies.

It's a bad joke you're making pierre-k , the design of vegas pro hasn't really changed, still this very bland design. I would have thought that for this new version for all these years, that it would have changed in appearance (design) but in the end still so dark, and nothing changes. Disappointing so far for me.

@Former user You are disappointed after a single screen and a trailer for a new feature without seeing the full feature list of VP19?

That screen does show most UI elements in the application. I can see changes in color and iconography, but not much else. I guess Ivan expected more thorough changes in the UI. It you take his comment in context, there really is not much wrong with it... unless you simply object to the tone :-}

Hello friends,

I occasionally check the forum and saw this post, I am glad to see the development of Vegas continues! And whilst in the meanwhile I do use another editor, I am still interested in how things progress with Vegas, particularly now as Movie Studio cease to be part of it, will have released a good amount of R&D resources from the team.

I also felt the interface could do with some more serious updates, but more importantly for v19 I would like to know if more work was done to fix some very significant problems that at least I had in the past, among which:

1. CPU and GPU use during editing particularly and then rendering stage, PC resources usage in general.

2. Stabilizer not really working, at all.

3. Overall stability with video drivers.

These three were the biggies for me to be solved before I could use Vegas. Objectively speaking, these prevented me to do the work so I had to move on. Subjectively, various improvements I wanted and I am sure some at least will be included with the upcoming release. I guess soon enough I will know. :)

When should be the official release? I mean, about when?

I agree with you about the synergy between Acid and Vegas. Those days seem to be gone and that's definitely a shame, but a Magix specific store shared across all their A/V apps seems like what is in the works. As I mentioned, I don't see anyone editing video in Acid so a store which includes video content seems a bit far stretched to only be used for Acid Pro.

Did you click on the link I posted? It includes separate audio and video content sections as well as a "LUTS" and 3rd party video plugin content sections. Audio makes sense for Acid users but not so much for the video and LUTS content. If that stuff is only intended for the Acid users, I think Magix may have really missed their target audience on providing those content offerings. I don't feel I'm going out too far on a limb speculating a one button push link to that store will be in the next Vegas. Those NewBlue video plugin offerings likely won't run very well in Acid. 😀

Therefore my speculation is that the V is a direct link to the "Video" content store and the H is for the Vegas Hub functionality already in the Vegas 365 version. Sorry if this turns into a spoiler alert. 😉

I hope the new version.  will be stable.  Since VP17 the software often crashes during playback while editing, or even during editing, you edit quietly and suddenly the software loads and crashes.  VP18 does the same with the 527.

@Former user
If you have specific problems, it is better to start your own thread and describe there exactly what they are.
Use this as a rough roadmap:

I change my mind on what the "V" in the image will be. However, I still believe Vegas will get a quick link built into it to take you to Magix's online store. Placing a bookmark in your browser is just too difficult and so inefficient to promote purchasing more of the things you never knew you needed. 😉

It looks like V19 will have a new icon for Vegas Image in the preview window. Reference of V18 Vegas Image icon posted below. New icon sets coming our way for V19, which means that V may be linked to a new version of the 99% 3rd party developed Vegas Image. Oh the excitement! 😆 The common development theme continues, more 3rd party product implementation offerings and tweak enhancements to existing Vegas features.

Am i crazy or what? How about basic features to be easy accessable?
Maybe i am doing it wrong, but i dare to say, in the past it was possible to put a simple box around the text instead of just an outline and/or shadow. Like in Adobe Premiere today, which can be extended on ones desires and likings.
Will that come to VP19? For now i only see the option to crop the text object with a background enabled... Other than that, this teaser is only for people interesting who make "Top 10" Videos and like to have stock footage at their fingertipps. The color options seem not to be different from vp17/vp18, no match for lumetri for very easy changing in shadows, whites, contrast, midtones, hightones etc.

Hi all, when out the new version VP19 ? Thanks

@Former user from https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-pro/ :

"The new version on its way – scheduled to release in August 2021."

Former user wrote on 8/2/2021, 2:18 AM

I understand that, but what date on august ?

RogerS wrote on 8/2/2021, 2:21 AM

That hasn't been announced.

Howard-Vigorita wrote on 8/2/2021, 9:20 AM

Suggest keeping an eye on the expiration of the 2-for-1 deal in the link @vkmast posted above . Right now it expires tomorrow on 8/3. Suggesting the new release might be as early as the next day. If it gets extended, based on past history the release date will probably be extended too.

Just wanted to add a note and a question. I upgraded to VP18 Post because of the following free upgrade to 19. At the time it said Aug 1st.

Let me put in my 2 cents.
I wasn't counting on that date from the get go. Just wanted the free upgrade. I'd much rather have to wait for a stable release, even if it takes a few weeks, than get a beta pushed out as the final release just to meet a date . . . and then have to deal with all the bugs until a patch is released.

The question? Is the team that works on Vegas also the same group that works on Effects? If so, I'm excited to see what happens with more time to spend on this. If not, I'm still looking forward to what a concentrated effort on VP can do. Here's hoping for a great future.

Yes, that is the case with software from many companies.
But it's up to you when you install it on your PC.
If you are worried about that, you can wait for the first one or two updates and then install it.

But you can also install Vegas Pro 19 and run tests with it to get to know it, and still edit work that is important and valuable to you with the "old" version 18.

As I said - it is all up to you.

@sam-walker The team developing Effects is FxHome, now part of Artlist. Magix/Vegas Creative Software creates Vegas and presumably they both work on integration of the two. I am with you for getting the first release right and not just hitting a date for marketing reasons.

Lol! I'm from the Detroit metro area and your comment reminds me of Detroit Lion's fans every year right before the season starts. Always hopeful out of the gate but certain to be disappointed. When was the last time you can recall a new version release come out rock solid without some major bugs and glitchiness? Probably the last time the Detroit Lions won a superbowl?....never! 😆

As a Lion's fan and VP user, I just set my expectations low and everything after that are pleasant surprises. I may install the VP1 demo after about the 4th update.

I upgraded to 16 quite late in the cycle but was using 17 and 18 from the first version. New version number aside, I found them to be largely a further refinement from the last build of the previous version and never had issues significant enough to revert to the old one. The bugs I've encountered are mostly issues that were never fixed rather than reversions. I understand others may have had a different experience and that seems quite hardware and media dependent. I plan to use 19 from whenever it is released and will keep 18 installed, but don't intend to use it.

@Former user August 3 is the last date of the offer for VP18 + VP19. VP19 will be released very soon.
