Suggestion:
An interesting option to be added would be to transform the adjust events into medias in the Media Project, so we could name the AdjustEvent and add a MediaFX to it that would work as a single VideoFX controller for several different points of our editing, like a procedural FX.

This would help to create interesting compositions and increase the possibilities for creating Motion Graphics.

@editeiro  ... If I understand what you are seeking, you can R click the Adjustment Event, click on Properties, and then type your wanted "Active take name" into that field. I just tried it and so have learnt something new.

I did that on my print, but this AdjustEvents are not able to be converted in a Media and recieve VideoFX on MediaFX panel.
If we have many diferent AjustEvents representing a single Media, loading a single VideoFX on MediaFX panel and affecting the events below,

we could have a single VideoFx working as an effects controller, can beeing copied multiple times across the timeline without becoming a new individual duplicate

I'm not really understanding what you are seeking other than thinking that you could create an Adjustment Track which would apply any chosen FX across any video tracks placed underneath that Adjustment Track. Apparently, you can still use an Adjustment Event to apply an FX to any events on lower tracks for the length of that Adjustment Event - including fade ins and outs - which adds to the FX on the Adjustment Track.

Dexcon I'll explaing, check the video:

With AdjustEvents I can create presets, in this example I created a transition.

However, my suggestion would be to have multiple copies of the AdjustEvents that correspond to the same source to be able to work the VideoFX in the same panel

So, as I show in the example, if I made an adjustment to my preset it would already update the corresponding events in my timeline, without me having to copy and paste the changes to each of the AdjustEvents individually.

That's why I suggested that there be an option that transforms AdjustEvents into media in Project Media without it losing AdjustEvent properties, so we could work with these VideoFX affecting our other events in a single panel, which would be the MediaFX panel

As this example shows:

Imagine being able to work like this, but with AdjustEvents.

I do know VST got an overhaul, with a big reduction and the number of redraw commands being sent being something that was mentioned... Among other things. Those of you who use Vegas for audio should notice some big differences.

Yeah, I mentioned those "GUI redraw flickering" many, many times here.

I am still stuck on Vegas 20 / build 370 because of this bug.

I will install the newest version as a trial and check if the bug (introduced in V20 / build 4.x.x) is gone.

If so, I will buy the update within a second.

Do let us know how that works out, if there's any work to be done still, the audio engineer will need to know.

@fr0sty @Petersson

I trust Petersson that he will honestly test everything that is necessary.

One mistake from the past remained. For some Waves plugins, the clock and playhead is tearing. For all Maximizers and Delay FX. I don't have other plugins so I can't test more.

The envelope bug and the flicker should be fixed in VP21.

Does VP 21 still have the BCC Primate Studio that was in VP 20? I saw previous posts indicating problems with activating Primate Studio.

I just updated to 21. It won’t open. Now I can’t open 20. I’ve run the disk checks with no issues. What else can I do?

ahshing wrote on 8/15/2023, 4:53 PM

You should be able to just download VEGAS 21 and register it with your current serial number... but another user did post this, in case that does not work.

You must go into your Magix Service Center and deactivate any devices currently running VP20, you will then receive a new Serial Number that will work with VP21.

You shouldn't have to deactivate anything, though, as I use 365 and all my previous versions still work. If so, if you want to re-activate an older version of VEGAS, just use the new serial number they give you.

So it's not a free upgrade for the VP20 user right?

Just saw this in the youtube but I'm still confused about that😥

Right. To upgrade you need to purchase a new license. The text in the sg means a user will get updates/new builds of that version for free.

But  if you are trying to upgrade to the latest version of VEGAS Pro as part of your 365 subscription you should be able to upgrade without any extra costs.

Vegas Pro 21 Trial Version Test

Hello all. I'm reaching out as someone who uses Vegas Pro video editing software regularly and wanted to offer some thoughts on the recent updates that have come with the latest version 21. I appreciate the efforts to improve the software, but I believe it's important to provide some honest feedback on a few areas that might need some more attention.

First off, I've had the chance to try out the Z-depth feature, but I've noticed it's not very reliable across different clips. It could be more useful with some refinements to make it work consistently on a wider range of projects.

The Smart Mask tool, which was hyped as a big breakthrough, could be a game-changer once it's more polished. Right now, it's a way off in terms of usability for everyday projects. A lot more work on this could really make it an important tool.

While having two new transition effects is nice, I think it would be even more beneficial to invest in improving the existing range of effects. We already have a lot of transitions to work with, and making the above mentioned better could have a bigger impact.

The "new enhanced buttons" seem to be a minor update, and I'm surprised it even got a mention. While it's good to have improvements, I think it might be worth considering changes that are more noticeable and directly enhance the user experience.

As for the cloud-based text-to-speech feature, I couldn't test it out properly due to  trial copy access limitations. It would have been be great to see how this had improved.

I wish to make it clear that I'm not trying to be overly critical, just sharing some observations from a long standing user's perspective. I hope these insights can be useful in shaping the future updates of Vegas Pro.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the software continues to evolve based on user input.

OK, so I have had the 365 version for seven months and check for updates often, but it does not tell me that I can update as a 365 subscriber to version 21.

jetdv wrote on 8/15/2023, 8:25 PM

@Cmin7669 "Check for Updates" checks for updates to the version it is so version 20 will check for updates to version 20. Version 21 is a new version. Since you have 365, just download and install the new version and activate with the same serial number.

OK, every time I go to the Vegas Hub it asks me to sign-in, is this a bug or how it is now??

It would be handy if the plug-in chooser could highlight at the top any favourite FX's.

Also the help says you can drag plugins from the plugin manager window to tracks, events etc but I cannot seem to do this it shows red circle with line through it both in V20 and V21.

Hello all,

Question regarding Vegas Image and Effects 5.0. I have Vegas post 20. I tried downloading Vegas Image 5, but it says I have to activate vegas post (which I have activated). My question is, do I need Vegas post 21 to be able to update Vegas Effects and Image? If so, I guess I'll stay on the last version.

Ok understood. I seemed like a small update (Effects and Image I mean), didn't expect there to be a cost. For Vegas Pro totally understandable though. Thanks.

Anyone at vegas: will there be any bugfix update for version 4 of Vegas Effects?
