Yes, I have the same problem activating Primate Studio.

Also, I have Vegas Pro Suite 365, and can't activate Acid as there is no serial number shown on my account.

@j-v

Ahh I see now what is happening, If you hold the mouse button and make a selection but keep the cursor on the line it will not drag down (I was doing this unintentionally). Also does this in V20 so it seems this is normal. Many thanks.

(Intel 3rd gen i5@4.1GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, 1080Ti GPU, Windows 10) Not now used with Vegas.

13th gen i913900K - water cooled, 96GB RAM, 4TB M2 drive, 4TB games SSD, 2TB video SSD, GPU RTX 4080 Super, Windows 11 pro

I found a technical issue in the Adjustment Events function.

There is no option to prevent the original media from remaining static in the background in cases of using VideoFX that affect the masking or position of the media in the preview.

The screenshots show this well.

If you don't have an option that, when enabled, hides the original media so that only the VideoFX action is shown in the preview, Adjustment events become almost useless for Text Media and other graphics with a transparent background.

Any solution for this?

Hey there, can you elaborate on this years version of Effect and Image? Is there any change from Vegas Post 20?

I checked in with the team to make sure they knew what was up. The development team was already made aware of this and is hard at work on a fix.

I'm trying to download and activate Primate Studio as per the emailed instructions. I sign in to my Boris account, enter the activation number emailed to me and I'm Getting "Serial not valid for this promotion." Anybody else getting this?

Same issue here. Always a hassle with Boris.

Once again. Vegas hits it out of the park with one of the most amorphous, strange, weirdly-cast, poorly scored, short on actual information PROMO VIDEOS of all time. I will say the production values are good, the transitions are impressive. Was it done on Final Cut or Premiere? Who knows? I have ZERO idea what is being promoted, or how well it works - as far as ease of use. Why not a talking head with a more hands on and descriptive presentation. This artsy fartsy stuff is just so meh and tired, sorry. . We have to wait for Gary - like our dad - to come out with a more clinical "this is how this works, and this is how that works" tour of the new features. Now, I was excited to tune in, ready to be entertained and enticed. Big fail. Magix USED TO BE more about substance than hype. Same with Vegas. Let's get back to that, please. I'll be glad, however, to be wrong here, Please, let me see what I'm not seeing. Thanks, not here to carp, but my goodness, this is not good.

Should this version come automatically for 365 users? I mean that some day Vegas will inform that there is new version available for update? Then I just press button and have it? 😊

I would be also interested about bugfixes since last version of VP20.

fr0sty wrote on 8/14/2023, 10:39 PM

You should be able to just download VEGAS 21 and register it with your current serial number... but another user did post this, in case that does not work.

You must go into your Magix Service Center and deactivate any devices currently running VP20, you will then receive a new Serial Number that will work with VP21.

You shouldn't have to deactivate anything, though, as I use 365 and all my previous versions still work. If so, if you want to re-activate an older version of VEGAS, just use the new serial number they give you.

Are there discounts for users of Vegas Pro or Post 20?

vkmast wrote on 8/15/2023, 2:21 AM

The current "official" Upgrade pricings are at the website here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-pro/ (Click the globe button at the top bar there to see your area's version of that URL)

Check also your emails for possible special offers that may not be available at the website.

Me too. I seem to recall the same thing last time. I had to shopping around til I found the OFX download in https://borisfx.com/legacy-downloads/

Not happy today. Installed Vegas Pro Edit 12, tried to install Deep Learning modules but that failed with the dreaded "no valid product recognised" error so uninstalled Pro Edit 12 and now it refuses to reinstall. Have followed the info on the support page and cleared out files and registry entries, but simply was not getting past wanting to uninstall it. Eventually managed to find {...} entry in the Uninstaller section of the registry which, once deleted, allowed the install to continue.

Really could do with a proper clean-up tool and/or option on the installer to force installation to get round these sorts of issues (even better, make sure uninstall really does clear everything).

"Pro edit 12"? Presumably a typo and you mean "21"?

As a long time user of Vegas Pro (since Vegas Pro 13 I upgraded all the way up to v19 Vegas Post), here is my question that is going to "make it or break" it for me whether or not I may continue upgrading to Vegas Pro 21:

Does Vegas Pro 21 require to be online every time I start the program? I am totally fine with online registration and online activation/validation etc. But since I plan on working on a machine that after installation and registration and activation of all programs will not be connected to the internet for most of the time, I would need to be able to start and run Vegas Pro without it requesting online access all the time.

Thanks in advance!

@Ottonis
As you pointed out, registration requires you to be online and activation of various licensed components requires you to be online as well, just like in previous versions. If you are using any cloud based features that come with the 365 subscription, you will need to be online. Also, our help system has moved online as well. Normal operation of the application will work if you are offline however.

I hope that explains things for you.

I do know VST got an overhaul, with a big reduction and the number of redraw commands being sent being something that was mentioned... Among other things. Those of you who use Vegas for audio should notice some big differences.

Yeah, I mentioned those "GUI redraw flickering" many, many times here.

I am still stuck on Vegas 20 / build 370 because of this bug.

I will install the newest version as a trial and check if the bug (introduced in V20 / build 4.x.x) is gone.

If so, I will buy the update within a second.
