Magix, will there be an upgrade offer?

I really don't like the word "upgrade" here... Just saying.

I agree, both upgrade offers were/are available to anyone, that is not an upgrade offer.  I would consider the first offer to have been a 'fire sale'.  I consider the second offer to be, at worst a ripoff, at least, an insult to the user base.  Upgrade offers are made to keep loyal customer and get them into the new version thereby helping to build expasion of the user base.  It appears the new owners of Vegas Pro have a lack of loyality towards their loyal user customer base.

Another interesting thing, my version of Acid is one version back, and the upgrade page is saying invalid serial haha, so no way that can be upgraded.

This is all atypical Magix crap and i hope they suffer sales badly for it !!

Another point is if you or somebody else feel not satisfied with the actual offers. Fair enough for you others to say so.

I agree with Nick, who is "staying positive, I like to think that soon we'll have a patch that fixes the new bugs, we'll all be properly in the Magix database and mailing list, a more palatable November upgrade offer will come along, and that the future will bring real improvements to the software."

Note that the "ongoing standard" price still equals the "special" offer.

It was not me to state that revenues would have been higher with lower prices. And the guy who beliefes that do not know if that is true.

Very simple calculation in my case: VP14 for $249: Magix sales = 0, VP14 for anything below $199: Magix sales= what ever the price below $199 would be.

And that is a fact.

is on topic, but this may not be, I would not load the current Magix version of Vegas if they paid me 249.00. Hoping they sort things out for the future, including a decent upgrade package

Is it back on topic OR what you would like the replies and posts to be?

I have been keeping quiet on this for a while but one thing that annoys me a lot is that certain people on here are extremely on the side of Magix and not enough on the side of us loyal Vegas Pro users.

My trial period will end soon and so will Vegas 14. At that time, I will go back to my other boot drive and it will be as if Vegas 14 was never there. I will still check in to see posts concerning Sony Vegas Pro 13.

Fair enough, so I'm asking, as has Martin, will there be an upgrade offer from Sony Vegas Pro 13 to Magix Vegas Pro 14?

The simple answer is yes.
For $249
Upgrade offer valid until October 30, 2016

And you can moan as long as you want.
I guess it will not change.

Well that was rather rude, but inaccurate, $249 until 10-30-2016 is an extension and the same offer expired 10-16-2016.....neither is an upgrade, although you can say that as long as you want.  It's not an answer to my question or the thread topic.

Be that as it may, very early I opened a ticket with Magix on this subject. A few days ago, I received this link from support - https://support2.magix.com/customer/de/vegas/upgrade - and it does actually ask for a serial number. Bad news is that it directs to the same $249 "upgrade" price. Oh well... please turn out the lights when leaving.

Quitter wrote on 10/15/2016, 3:39 PM

Do not misunderstand
I agree with you
But it does not change, the price is $ 249 (upgrade or not)

And I think 300 posts further on, it is still $ 249

Well I'm happy we don't have any misunderstanding now.

I agree, the price was $199.00, and it's now $249.00 (at least for a few more days, who knows after that).

Magix can print online and in email the word 'upgrade', but that doesn't make it an upgrade offer for loyal customers, when anyone can buy the offer.......it's as simple as that.  So my question still stands, will magix announce an upgrade offer?  Most likely not, at least it doesn't appear so.

And the answer to all the topic  has been posted anyway: there is an offer but you do not like it. That is ok that you do not like it. The $199 offer specified an "upgrade to Vegas Pro 14" so technically it did include an upgrade for new customers. The latest $249 offer, as other posters have pointed out, is where the "upgrade" link directs VP13 owners. But it's all semantics anyway. $249 is the only offer available to those of us with VP13 so it's a rose by any other name.

As for the poster who claimed that we all had the chance to take the $199 offer - yes, that's true but that ignores the fact that a Magix employee told us to wait for the upgrade deal on the Sony forum. If I had known then how Magix operate then of course I would have ignored his advice and possibly taken the deal. I'm sure the captain of the Titanic would have avoided the iceberg in hindsight.
