Doesn't magix give you a 14 day grace period to make refunds?
You can email them and ask for it, see what they say.
Someone already told me the right answer (yes it's possible to go from Vegas Pro to Vegas Pro Edit (my account confirmed me this possibility with the serial number).
14 grace day period is not valid anymore lol, i'm using vegas (and Love it !) since many years ;). But just noticed (thanks to the one who told it here) that the third party plugins shipped with the licence doesn't whort it because of the possibility that the plugin will not work in the next version, so better to buy a full licence of the plugin directly from the manufacturer. i was not aware of that, so it make the Vegas pro Edit by far the best value in the offer.
Thanks to all the ones who answered, i'll be onboard with some of you monday , hopping that the GPU acceleration in the preview / timeline will work on my old GT 640 Nvidia. (can't upgrade to a More reccent Gpu duet to an healt issue. I can't have a LCD/LED screen (oversentive to sound, i'm hearing the noise made by the LCD/LED backlight and it make me big pain (Tried numerous screen with no luck for now). so i'm forced to use since 10 years an old CRT monitor which by chance doesn't hurt me (LG 775FT) in VGA. as all the new graphic card since the Pascal GPU stopped to support VGA, it make me impossible for upgrade to a better GPu). (the screen run in 72hz/75hz, but all the small Hdmi->Vga converter only work at 60hz :( ) if anybody know a solution they are welcome (sorry i'm out of subject).
Vegas is a non-linear video editor, it would only make sense for audio to take a back seat, though I agree that many of those bugs and features need long overdue attention... However, up until now, there have been more important video features that needed even more attention.
what? Both audio and video features are important. Vegas did start as an audio editor before video features were added. Users wouldn't have to export anything to mix elsewhere if those features were finally implemented.
Sure, but with limited resources, you cannot do everything, so you have to prioritize. Vegas' dev team have had a tough job to catch up with the NLE competition, but they are doing a great job, so that bodes well for future improvements of all kinds - including audio.
Best thing is to make sure your concerns / feature requests are accurately documented here in detail so the devs know what is wanted. They DO watch these forums!

Maybe the $200 will be given to hitfilm. However it is more cheap than vegas + another hitfilm.

Understood but those audio features mentioned have been requested for several years now, nothing new.
Still, if it was me, and I really wanted the best chance to see these features / fixes to be done, I would make sure all neccessary information was presented "front & center" on this forum.
So 17 is available for download...but did Vegas send me my 17 code based on this offer? Of course not. And when I click on the link to "upgrade" it asks me to login and wants the 249$ I already paid. Why does this not surprise me...
So after buying into their offer I must activate a trial-version to play with it
"what? Both audio and video features are important." yes, but Vegas already is better equipped as far as audio goes than most NLE's, so it could afford to set it on the back burner for a minute while they modernized the far more complex video end of things.

Surely sending out an email promptly on the day of release shouldn’t be that difficult, especially to customers that ponied up in advance. Same issue as last year.
"Surely sending out an email promptly on the day of release shouldn’t be that difficult"
Technically, this actually is difficult for sending big bulg mails. Usually this only can be done by sending delayed chunks which then may last several days to get the last one supplied.

@Marco. So unless you really need the extra licence, VP16 in this case, better to purchase and download on release day, thats better than possibly waiting several days to get it. I'm still underwhelmed by this, I do appreciate your explanation, thanks.
I'm seriously overwhelmed by all of the really exciting and excellent new features and improvements. Too numerous to mention.
I see only two items re: fixes in the release notes.
@Former user you are correct - the only reason for availing of their "Special Offer" is if you wanted to get 16 AND 17 - because the price on their website right now is exactly what I paid for the "time-limited" offer. But we all knew that was going to happen anyway, as pointed out above.

@DesertSweeper Actually, I didn’t believe for a moment that there would be any price difference.
"I see only two items re: fixes in the release notes."
I guess these two fixes mentioned relates to a former pre-release build, not the former version. Don't know why them are mentioned in the initial public release. Maybe for the PR people reading here.

@DesertSweeper Looking at my post from last year I got it just under 9 hours from now.😡

@Marco. Ok, confusing, so maybe there is a to be released list of fixes? Wondering whether the 5D Mk. IV greater than 40 video clips issue and the recurring blue-ray iso file creation bugs are fixed yet.

This is madness. Still haven't got my activation code. Only yesterday I payed for a $3.00 game on Origin and got it in 10 seconds. My regular purchases on Steam take like 10 minutes to clear and start downloading. That is why I buy online....convenience and speed. Now I bought Vegas Pro 16 + 17 a week before release date for $ 200.00 (?). Now my payment went through instantly but no 00:00 download....emailed customer support and they replied with an email with no text and an invoice attached....which tells me nothing....except what I already know...I payed.
