Finally driver update fixed in this build for me, not been working since November. All good so far.

This build hasn't yet crashed and I"ve been using it since yesterday. IT'S CRAZY!, but having just said that... let the white screens of death begin

I have updated to 482- march 15,2020 as well and only have the intel QSV option. where is the NVENC options? Damn! Never mind. I went into the settings and unchecked ENABLE LEGACY DECODING. All is well and the Nvidea decoder is showing up! Whew! Sorry Magix, I was cursing at you ! User error, but I have to say , I never had to adjust the settings after an update before.

I can't get my HEVC render options to show up no matter if the box is checked or not. Any other ideas, or do I have to uninstall and re-install the old version?

Which HEVC templates/codecs are we talking about?

Hello, I was testing all the builds of the last VEGAS. In each one I've expected same distortions in the Video FX and Transitions folder, it looks pretty crazy. First, I thought its because of the OS, but I have reinstalled Windows a week ago, the only one thing changed is the resolution of the fonts, it's now readable.

Windows 10, NVIDIA GTX 1060 , i7 8700K

David-Jodon wrote on 3/16/2021, 12:25 PM

I see no template for NVENC under the format MAGIX HEVC/AAC MP4. Under Options/Preferences/File I/O Enable legacy HEVC decoding checkbox is checked. If I uncheck it (and restart Vegas) nothing changes. Still no NVENC tremplates.

Under the depreciated features tab there is a checkbox which says: Allow legacy GPU rendering. It is unchecked, but it makes no difference if I check it. Still no NVENC options.

If I select Render, select Internet HD 1080p 29.97 fps (Intel QSV and then go to customize template and click "Encode mode" there is nothing there for NVENC either.

Can I get my NVENC back wiht this version?

David-Jodon wrote on 3/16/2021, 12:29 PM

I use MAGIX HEVC/AAC MP4/nternet HD 1080p 29.97 fps NVENC or UHD 2160p 29.97 fps NVENC

Everything (all my render options) are back now. I uncheck "enable legacy HEVC for decoding" under file I/O & uncheck Allow legacy GPU rendering ijn Depreciated features. All is good. Thanks everyone for helping return my heart to a normal rhythm!

You're my hero! Deinstalling Sonic Radar and Studio helped to solve this strange bug. But I have to say that it's not normal, this is the first program that has problems with that sound tools.

Looks like the changes made to the VEGAS Beta team are starting to show results. Looks like most folks are having a stable experience.

@Alex-Sugar there is a setting in Vegas to solve the problem without disabling the Sonic crap, if you want to keep that crap. See my solution here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-18-visual-glitching-in-one-panel-after-last-update--126415/#ca786801

I welcome the addition of “real” Prores, and I expect to use it in the future, well done, thank you.

Please don’t think the following is nit picking, it’s not.

I did a preliminary RQM, quality check against the previous Magix Intermediate 422 HQ. I found that the older intermediate file has a slightly higher quality, it’s size and data rates are higher also, which tallies.

I wonder if it’s possible to give users an option in the render template to adjust same. I accept that Magix selected the hard wired value as the best compromise, or maybe they have to use a given fixed value? I searched “internals” under prores, but found no items, values to change.

In ffmpeg there's a -qscale range available of 0 - 32.

The red preview screen issue that I previously had, hasn’t gone away with the latest build, see this link to my previous comments.

A common fix for this is adding VP into the Nvidia Control Panel, but didn’t fix it. Its related to some memory problem in VP17 and VP18, doesn’t happen in VP16. I got a memory warning also. It only occurs with the very high data rate 4K DCI files.

@Glenn-C Try the scroll-bar at the bottom of the window... maybe the Name column is hidden off to the right. If so, you can grab the column header and drag it to the left to bring it into view without scrolling.

No it's not that. The first column title is there, and all the fields below it are blank, however if i click a blank one, its information displays below.

1440P Nvenc files created by OBS causes this release to crash as frequently as it always did. Disappointing, turning on Legacy AVC greatly improves crashing as it always did, it was my hope I wouldn't need it

It is using 13% CPU on 'slow' . As long as i'm not doing other things at the same time that use a lot of CPU , it should be a solution, although I notice the NVENC via FFMPEG option that i've never used. I will try that first, although don't expect much difference

Pro build 482 - I can no longer render to 360. I can uncheck the Project Video Properties and render but the result is not 360 only flat.

Hi Fellow Mammals

after the update, CPU is at 100% GPU running under 10%, no encoding, GPU mem 20g (I7 gtx 1650, 32g sys mem) but only under 4g Vram in use, shouldnt it be more GPU and less CPU being used? a 11 min video took 4 hours to render, a bit long render time isnt it. sure its UHD but still, 4 hour for 11mins

anyone else CPU maxing out
