Is there any hope that the effects will be organized by folders again? It's more organized and practical that way.
@Vegas_Pro_Brasil +1, with BCC plugins installed, the FX wondows shows very messy and Each time opening the Vegas to search plugins, vegas freezes for about 3 minutes.
@lan-mLMC I've mentioned the way VideoFX are listed (ala Vegas Movie Studio style) when VP18 was released. I wasn't happy about it either. Still am not, and am "forced" to use Plugin Manager as another window in the UI taking up space I'd rather have back.
When I asked about this, I was queried as to "why" I didn't like it. Try finding anything if you have Boris Continuum Complete, NBFX, Ignite Pro, Sapphire and some other plugins. With Plugin Manager, they are back in their proper folders. To me, after years of Vegas having folders, I don't understand the "why". I don't think it will ever return to it's previous state. I asked why not have an option to choose... the VMS look or the VP look... nothing.
@Reyfox ... I couldn't agree more. The VFX window without the folder breakdown is just so user-unfriendly. Both HitFilm Pro and Resolve still use folders for VFX.
I was queried as to "why" I didn't like it
For me, the answer is self-evident. With BCC, for example, its huge package is broken down into task based packages which show via VP's Plug-in Manager. So that way, rather than having to know the name of an individual BCC VFX, I can go to the relevant BCC folder and then pick the wanted VFX. Heck, even the native Vegas Pro VFX are broken down into task based folders via the Plug-in Manager. Obviously, the Vegas team thought that this approach was worthwhile at some time (and for many years in fact). Why they dropped it from the basic VFX window is incomprehensible to me.
@Dexcon I still don't like the way it is. And you are right, everything, included Vegas assets were in the proper folders for easy access. Who ever came up with this idea, and invested the time to implement it, should have really thought about it first. Who really has benefitted from this. Certainly not users of Vegas Pro prior to VP18. Consider how Vegas often bundles third party software with VP. You would think.....
I've given up hope that it will ever revert back, or at least have that option.
I'm not a beta tester (I did apply when it was offered to everyone), but if I saw that, I certainly would have objected to it's implementation.
This was most likely due to the fact that new window designers and Beta people at the time didn't use 3-RD plugins so much. (I remember the Beta expansion wasn't happening yet at that time.) By the time they discover these fatal flaws, it's too late and they just have to carry on.
Plugin Manager is a good alternative, but it lacks preview thumbnails and favorites features, which is painful.
@lan-mLMC agreed. Plugin Manager doesn't have the preview thumbnails, and I stated that when VP18 came out.
And yes, to me, they are fatal flaws that should be fixed, but those that wanted it back to the old folder structure are left in a lurch. I was just surprised that there was only a handful of users were even concerned.
I believe they are improving, but they just needs time because their list is so loooooong (Of course, our requests might also make the plugin window improvement to a higher priority in their list.) , and they lack engineering human resources (The team now has only 5 or 6 engineers.).
My version won't install the update from 424. I have tried both installs (from popup and direct download link) three times and tried re-booting as well. It runs through it's paces on install but still bring up version 424 when I open the program. Any ideas?

@JD-RC: Check your disk space. Often times the installer will appear to installer but fails (without an error) if it runs out of disk space.

Happened to me on both my laptop and desktop. Kept trying and eventually it updated.
VEGAS Pro 19 does not officially support Windows 11.
So if you buy a new PC you can't use Vegas 19 ? Just kidding, I have been on Windows 11 for some months now, didn't see any problems that were not reported on Windows 10 too.

Congratulations - some others have problems - if you are interested, use the forum search, will probably depend on the specific configuration.
Fixed an issue which caused the FX editor to move when being resized
Reading too fast I initially hoped this was "fixing issue that cause the FX editor to resize every time you touch something in the FX chain" ... but, temporary disappointment ... I hope this will be for the next build...
I want to calm so of the panic over the "VEGAS Pro 19 does not officially support Windows 11" statement. It would probably be more accurate to state that we have not validated VEGAS Pro 19 on Windows 11 yet. We are hoping to finally be able to do this soon (we are waiting for Windows 11 compatible hardware), but to this point, we have not had confirmed any Windows 11 specific issues. Most of the issues that people have had to this point have revolved around the default drivers that are installed with Windows 11. I have a system at home running VEGAS Pro 19 on Windows 11 and have had no issues to this point.
As I said, we hope to have hardware for validating (and resolving any problems) early in 2022. The team has been requesting new hardware for this for quite a while, so we are hoping we will be provided what we need to handle this very soon.

Man...I had room but it was sort of "close". Blew out a few things and it installed. Thanks so much!
Okay I am going to give some tough love to Vegas here. I love Vegas, I really do. It has the most amazing and cleanest interface and you can do the fastest edits but there are some things that are stuck to zero and are not improving.
You gave us extra 50 modern, customizable transitions. From a quick look on all of them, most of them just 1 slider for "customization" and some of them are not even customized at all. Modern? I highly doubt it. Water drop, undulating burn out, Luminance Melt, who would actually use these? Vegas PRO is not for amateurs that want to edit videos for their kids and have cheesy transitions. We need powerful seamless professional transitions like S_BlurMoCurves from Sapphire that work natively. Organic. Most of the times when you are doing a transition the point if for the audience not to notice the transition and not have this 90's graphics bouncing around.
Just look at this customization and options you get on the image attached.
Other editing programs suffer from that options too. Also a quality motion blur tool (like After Effects) should also be added to Vegas. Editing, we know you have excelled in that; you need to move on bigger things. Social media is filled with quality edits and seamless cuts made from creative young people. You should target to that.
P.S. Also TITLES. We need a better, modern LOWER third tool. With titles, and subtitles. Easy typewriter effects, keyframing easily and much more. We can help you and give you more ideas.
@Cobra - Now THAT'S what I call a Christmas Day address.
OK, tough love back at yah:
1 - All of those wished-for FXs and Titler have been asked for ad nauseam.
2 - All of those wished-for FXs and the Titler are now available as 3rd Party plugs.
3 - Team-Vegas has a fraction of the workforce that once swelled the SONY Team.
Question: From what I'm hearing/reading the Team would love to instigate what you call for, but, as there are other companies out there, to produce this stuff, why would Team-Vegas spend time on doing it, especially as the staff is so thinly spread?
I imagine it like this: I give my wife a fancy little car for Christmas - and because I'm funny right now, it's supposed to be the convertible version of the model as a bonus on top (in analogy to the free new transitions, (which Vegas probably intended as a little Christmas present). After receiving the gift, my wife explains to me - as an introduction - how excessively she loves me - only to put me down shortly thereafter about what I was actually thinking, only giving a convertible small car, I should go and see what the neighbor's wife has in front of the garage - namely a brand new Lamborghini!
How would that make me feel? And how do the developers and product managers of Vegas feel now?
