Works still well on my Chrome @ Android 11. Which Android version do you use? Do you see some cert details when clicking the icon left to the url?

@m2016 Mine's old - Android version 5.0.2. My Chrome is 94.0.4606.61. Has been okay for the past five days but this evening (I'm GMT +13) giving the cert problem.

No, I don't see cert details but that could be me as I'm not great with phones. I tap on "Advanced" and then "Proceed to www.vegascreativesoftware.info (unsafe)" to get into the forum.

m2016 schrieb am 06.10.2021 um 13:00 Uhr

That it is an issue with Android > 2.3.6 and < 7.1.1 maybe... We take a look if we can change something in the cert chain. Is https://letsencrypt.org/ working on your device?

(For security reasons it is recommended to use Android versions getting security updates... v5.0.2 is very very old)

Musicvid schrieb am 06.10.2021 um 17:44 Uhr

version 7.0 here, and it worked until last week...

Musicvid schrieb am 07.10.2021 um 23:45 Uhr

Seems to have coincided with the Chrome Sept. 30 update.

Firefox is working fine.

m2016 schrieb am 08.10.2021 um 16:50 Uhr

Still strange for all of us. The issue is an expired (on sept 30th) root cert from letsencrypt but they had a solution for Android devices > 2.3.6. But all tries to generate a new cert with complete chain did not help. On other portals we're running on that plattform it works well.

Today I tried it with an old Samsung tab with Android 4.4 and got the same error page but some minutes later it worked by reloading the page and in the certificate information it displays the intermediate certificate which is missing when it fails.

Is https://producerplanet.com/ working on your device?

Musicvid schrieb am 08.10.2021 um 18:22 Uhr

Yes it is.

@m2016

m2016 schrieb am 08.10.2021 um 19:22 Uhr

@Musicvid ok great, that is one of our sites thats working on same infrastructure with same certificate type and the way we create/install the cert...

is this page (vegascreativesoftware.info) also working now (and we did not change anything; we did our tests on magix.info)?

Musicvid schrieb am 08.10.2021 um 20:26 Uhr

No, I cleared the Chrome cache, site data, and cookies, and the message still persists. Changing the address to http:// didn't help either. Browsing on Firefox for now.

@m2016

EricLNZ schrieb am 08.10.2021 um 23:14 Uhr

It's okay now on my Android 5.0.2.

Musicvid schrieb am 11.10.2021 um 23:33 Uhr

@m2016 Looks like it's working again today. Had to sign in again, but the block is gone. Will keep my fingers crossed.

Musicvid schrieb am 12.10.2021 um 17:36 Uhr

@m2016

And I spoke too soon. Problem is back today. Why would it be intermittent? Not sure what is going on, but it's not about "Security".

Musicvid schrieb am 13.10.2021 um 18:35 Uhr

After reading this thread, and getting wrong pages on my PC as well, I'm inclined to think the issues are related, and are reminiscent of an unstable DNS server.

EricLNZ schrieb am 15.10.2021 um 11:08 Uhr

The problem is back for me on my Android with Chrome but no problem on my pc with Win 10 and Firefox.

john-brown schrieb am 15.10.2021 um 14:20 Uhr

Android 6. Problem is back with both vegascreativesoftware.info and magix.info.

Vegas Pro 18 Edit, Vegas Movie Studio 16 Platinum, Magix Video Pro X16, Magix Movie Studio Platinum 2024, Xara Designer Pro X19, Samplitude Pro X8 Suite, Music Maker 2025 Premium, SF Audio Cleaning Lab 4, Sound Forge Pro 16 and more.

EricLNZ schrieb am 16.10.2021 um 08:46 Uhr

OK now but for how long?

m2016 schrieb am 20.10.2021 um 16:28 Uhr

This issue is still related to the expiry of the older root certificate of the letsencrypt SSL/TLS certificates. Only "newer" (>= 7.1.1 from ~2016!) Android versions were shipped with the latest root certificate, for all the older versions we do have these issues actually. There is a workaround in the software creating the cert automatically for that but it seems not to work on this website - on other websites we have on the same infrastructure it works well. We hope it might work after the next automatic renewal in a few weeks. We'll see...

The reason why your older devices sometimes are working or not we can not answer. We had the same behavior on an old 4.4 device. Similar problems might exists on other websites using letsencrypt.

Musicvid schrieb am 20.10.2021 um 18:17 Uhr

Thanks for digging deeper. Indeed, the Android version is 7.0, and I don't know if it will be updated again on this older Asus tablet.

The good news is that the issue with Chrome has been gone for about 60 hours, and the website is working as expected. Never did have a problem in Firefox for Android.

@m2016

EricLNZ schrieb am 07.12.2021 um 09:32 Uhr

The problem has returned for me with Chrome on my old Android. No problem with Firefox on my PC.

Musicvid schrieb am 07.12.2021 um 18:05 Uhr

It's been intermittent on Android 7 ever since. Switched to Firefox as default browser.

EricLNZ schrieb am 13.12.2021 um 09:12 Uhr

Ok again tonight, 13 Dec 2021.
