Personally I consider it would help if the confusing "Edit" offering was called something else. Maybe "Vegas Pro". The Vegas Pro offering could then be called "Vegas Pro Plus". And the Post called "Vegas Pro Post".

So you would have:
Vegas Pro
Vegas Pro Plus
Vegas Pro Post

Actually, it's a shame that (very) well-paid marketing people can't even come up with a logical product name in the very simplest form.
- And we haven't been discussing this topic not only since this version......

What do these people do when it really pinches?
Well, we have seen that in the past threads about version 19, where there were not even 5% technical problems (big praise to the developers!!!!!), but 95% marketing and communication failures - that is hard to swallow!
I'm sorry, but I had to say this so harshly.

Agree completely with the post from walter-i

Yes I agree. I was tricked by the wording, so now Im stuck with Vegas Edit instead of Vegas Pro. Im not buying the software 2xs.

Please see what VEGAS Edit includes.

Try reaching out to Magix Sales. I bought the Edit 18>19 package based on a lack of info on 19, and then wanted to upgrade to Pro once they published what it offered. They rejected my request once, but I tried again and was successful.

I think this is an area Magix could improve on. They allow an upgrade from an old version of VP and I believe in the past from Movie Studio to VP. Allowing an upgrade from Edit to Pro or Post should be a simple online process. Why would a business turn down $$?

I 100% agree.

How many are still waiting on their download and serial #'s for the 18 to 19, 2 for 1 purchase? I have been checking everyday including Spam folder and the My Products page and no eMail sent yet. I was told it would be a couple of days, it's been 10 is this a cause for concern?

Question regarding BorisFX Primatte Studio (which I use and appreciate) ...
I have VP18 and BorisFX Continuum Complete 2021.5
Is my Primatte Studio liable to "go away" if I chose "Vegas Edit version 19" rather than one of the other options? Or, is it actually part of BCC, as I would expect?

Reyfox wrote on 8/28/2021, 3:13 PM

@IAM4UK it shouldn't. It's part of BCC. I am using the trial version and it's there. I have VP18 Edit and Boris 2021 Continuum Complete and it's there. The difference between "Pro" and "Edit" are the addons.... that's it.

I recently got Vegas Pro 19 Edit. On previous versions, when I invoke the secondary monitor, the preview shows up full screen on the second monitor with no issues. On this version, version 19, the preview shows up only partially on the secondary monitor with no way to move it to the full screen. In other words, the preview is on both my primary monitor and secondary monitor. This was never a problem in previous versions, and I have most of the previous versions going way back. Is there something that version 19 is handling different than previous versions? Is this an early bug that needs squashed? Any help is appreciated. I have a Dell XPS I-7, 32 GB RAM, and an AMD video card. Thanks!

Look for the "alternate high DPI" setting. I had the same issue with 19 and forgot I had changed this on 18.

Erkki wrote on 8/29/2021, 11:32 AM

I have started to have alt+tab crash issue again (i.e.. switching back to Vegas from other application such as Ms Word). Similar issue was also on Vp18 some build but it was fixed.

I think that it was not happening during first days when using new Vegas19. Maybe it relates to project where I used both nested timelines and Vegas hub. Cannot pinpoint what will cause this.

Trying resetting Vegas settings next.

Thanks to you, the problem has been solved! I really appreciate the help and now I can watch the preview on my secondary monitor correctly! Thanks again, RogerS!!

I have purcased the Vegas 19 upgrade , so not an 365 subscription, can I use Vegashub ? It is posible to log in.

Photo_G wrote on 8/29/2021, 3:08 PM

I can too, but there's nothing really there at the moment. I read on the forum that there should be some v19 tutorials there for us at some point though.

For those of you thinking or planning to move from VMS17 Platinum to Pro 18 or Pro 19, which I did, I asked the question if all 3 will co-reside and was assured they would at least in two topics. We'll in my first brief use of Pro 18 and Pro 19, I see that they both picked up my VMS17P MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 custom Render Templates. So (a) What if I delete or modify templates, will that affect the other two editors? and (b) What else might they affect/clobber? So I'm not sure they are isolated from one another.

Righto. I risked it assuming people thinking of moving up might not have investigated this topic.

My Vegas 18 constant crashing. 19 no different. Until I read this. I only changed the Vegas priority and knocked off one processor for rendering. Problems all gone.
