Well, that would be your biggest clue. Except for one thing.

You didn't say what Nvidia graphics, what driver, what OS, and what Vegas version.

To me that message is very clear because it states that your Nvidia 750 is by far not good enough to do that task. Your only possibility is rendering with the old Mainconcept AVC with some acceleration by Cuda, but that one is also causing some faults sometimes.
For using the fast and excellent Nvidia NVENC rendering in VPro 16 you need at least a Nvidia 9xx card ( that is stated in the Specifications).

For what it's worth, from the respective MAGIX Vegas Pro readme/release notes:

VP 15 SysReqs. "NVIDIA, For hardware rendering (NVEnc): GeForce 600 series onwards (6xx, 7xx, 9xx, 10xx)"

VP 16 SysReqs. "NVIDIA, For hardware rendering (NVEnc): GeForce 900 series or higher with 4GB"

Only if you choose for that template the QSV option (if available) or the old Mainconcept AVC render for that template.

Sorry that I can't show you here the codecs and settings, but you have to choose within the Magix AVC codec the template without the NVENC or QSV options.
That one does not allow the old help from GPU rendering , but after allowing the old Mainconcept AVC in Options/Preferences/ Internal to show up also that Mainconcept AVC is visible in the codec list and there you can choose the renderoptions for
-CPU only
-Open CL if available and
-Cuda if available
as in the old days.
With me it gave never good renders so I always used CPU only in the old days.
