Hi ! I loved to use Sonic Foundry Vegas 5 a very long time ago - and SF Acid too!. Nowadays, I'm making music on a Macbook Pro M1 and I need to make visual content. I'd like to know if Magix has planed making a MacOS version one day?
Don't hold your breath. We currently do not have any plans to rewrite VEGAS Pro so that it would be cross-platform compatible. The biggest reason is the word "rewrite". I estimate over 60% of the codebase would need to be be scrapped and be written from scratch for that effort, and our team simply is not big enough to do that. A similar effort was made when VEGAS had a different owner (with considerably more revenue to work with), and it basically bankrupted that division of the company with most of the engineers losing their jobs and resulted in VEGAS (and other popular applications) being sold to Magix.

Sadely, it's not the one software company who financially can't make the work to handle Apple processor...
Recently, I asked the same question to Smode french developper team ( a great platform for live compositing and media servecing ) who did a quiet similar answer to me , worsened by the fact than Apple does not support OpenGL anymore : "... we would need a big sponsor to adapt Smode to mac OS and Apple Silicon" they concluded...
Maybe, I will to try to install Win 11 ARM on Parallels and see what happens for others Win software than I like... Is there anyone who tryed to run Vegas on that particular Win 11 version ? I dare thinking that it could be a little bit tricky and will result in loosing efficiency performing
