DejaVous...all over again. Asus/AMD inverted chroma

Thomas-Monks wrote on 1/16/2023, 1:49 AM

Greetings:

This happened to me last month during a crucial edit deadline. I successfully rolled back the AMD driver and everything worked. I disabled all driver updates. A couple of days ago WIN11 updated and now I'm back to square 1. The driver cannot be rolled back again as it seems it didn't update...that's good. It's the same damn chroma thing which has been going on for months. When will ASUS / AMD get their act together ?

Any thoughts how to get back to production ? Same thing, this time Preview is normal...when rendered, completely messes up the chroma. Thanks, Tom

Can't you do a DDU uninstall and reinstall the older one again? (22.5.1?) Otherwise I thought the WHQL AMD drivers addressed it so you could try a newer one of those as well.

Deja Vous? Deja You!

Last time, a solution was to roll back driver. This time it didn't exist. Thanks Roger for the advice. It worked fine. I really hope, never to see this problem again... and so do you all ! Cheers, Tom

DejaVous ???

Deja Vous means 'already you' in English. Vous is the French translation of the English pronoun 'you'.

I think the OP meant 'Dejas Vu' - already seen - 'vu' being the past tense of 'voir' which means 'to see'.

The OP probably meant déjà vu but these foreign loanwords are often all Greek to me as well (or in this case French...). Anyway, glad RogerS's suggestion was the solution.

Deja Vu in Greek would be 'το έχω ήδη δει' - but for this I've cheated because I've used Google Translate for that translation 😄. Though I am sadly poor at foreign languages other than French, I am forever in awe at those who can easily cope with many languages, particularly Europeans where I've spent a lot of time over the years - Switzerland to the Netherlands most recently.

I was not channeling Greek philosophy, or anything else clever... I was channeling Yogi Berra of the NY Yankees.
