There is only one who knows that and that is you, because nobody on this userforum can guess what program you are using, which sourcefiles you probably use in that program, which projectsettings you use and what you are doing more. So start here if you want some help on this place: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/important-information-required-to-help-you--110457/

Ok. thanks for now .

Vegas Pro 17 ,

I was unaware that project setting were required , or sourcefiles .

I simply place a SDHC with AVHC from Lumix and start edting

then output to either 1080 p or 720 files which go to an dedicated video files on another drive .

I did find this :

and it seems not to work on my Win10pc

Your Administrator status, UAC controls, and antivirus/security software can all prevent files from being written or read from an external drive. That's all on the user's end.

If you are opening from an SDHC card, that card must always be inserted and readable each time you open the project.

@pAUL-Cassini and it seems not to work on my Win10pc

One thing wrong with this video. He tells you to 'slowly' double-click the desktop icon. This is not necessary and is probably why it's not working for you. A normal double-click will do it but you may need to hold the Ctrl and Shift keys down until the prompt appears.
Having said that, I doubt whether this will help you, from what you said (or should I say, shouted) in your original post.

I have tried the double click , no joy

It did work once I have restarted my PC , though the C drive is still showing 27 gig where as it should be closer to 50 gig, the removes of old files has not happened .

MusicVid , I will have to look into the situation . Many thanks

Jack S, I did shout it out as I really do not understand why , if this is the case , a programme just cannot rid the unwanted space taking files , If the task is finished.

I did edit material form a DVD and then saved this to the E drive , hence me noting the C drive suffering , it only to two days to render a DVD .....the wonders of science. Very and Extremely annoying .

Are you sure the "old files" are to do with Vegas. More likely to be Windows junk?

pAUL-Cassini wrote on 2/15/2021, 12:32 PM

Hi .

I can only think not , as I have cleaned the drive , deleted about 2.5 Gig of junk,

Also the symptoms are very familiar to last years problems.

I shall of course keep trying to locate.

Thanks for the idea, suggestion
