Extra image when creating picture in picture

I have tried creating a picture in picture using the two recommended methods (see help). I have tested using a short video, and a couple of still images I'd like to overlay during the playback of the video. This is V17, build 321, Windows 10 latest, and Nvidia 1060.

The picture in picture works fine. But it also creates a second image on the screen, bottom center, that is the lower right hand corner (approximately 25%) of the image that is the image to be placed on top of the video! I cannot do anything to this orphan, can't click on it, move it, nothing. I can scale and move the original image on top of the video, but I have NO CONTROL over the orphan! This orphan is even on top of both the original video and the pic on pic.

I have also tried this using different stills, and different videos.

Anyone else???

I solved this, by resetting Vegas with Shift CTRL at startup. Drastic move, but not too many settings were affected.

Resetting is often worth at least a try in several issues. Thanks for coming back and telling the solution.

Not terribly drastic really, but often overlooked.
