VEGAS control the opacity directly on the event, which is much more faster than traditional keyframe which required 4 sets of keyframe for every blinking interval?

You can also automate the track composite to achieve the blinking FX.

Yes but i can't add keyframes on that control - i found a way with split then fade in and out .. But i think why should be so complicated ! Thanks for video , will check it for other tips. Regards

At the track level, add a composite envelope. Then change the opacity by lowering the envelope. Here's an example of a flashing arrow.

Where the blue composite envelope is at the top, you can see the arrow. Where the blue composite envelop is at the bottom, the arrow will not be visible. plus you can make a selection area and just drag downwards in that selection area and it will automatically create all four keyframe points needed. Open the help file and search for "Composite Envelope".

Being "ignorant" can be condescending or not. I don't think it was meant to be in the comment. There is more than one definition for that word, but it comes down to basically saying "the lack of knowledge in general, or in relation to a particular subject". You might know the other software better than Vegas. Heck, I have a consumer editor that will do some things way faster (Multicam editing for one) than Vegas. That doesn't mean that Vegas is not "professional".

Vegas is a professional video editor and you can make a blinking arrow, you just do not know how with Vegas. I would have asked "how" instead of starting off with your initial words. You are offending people that do use the software professionally.

@alifftudm95 a highly skilled PROFESSIONAL that uses Vegas said how it can be done, and added his beginners tutorial, which is excellent. I've watched it and learned new ways of working with Vegas. @jetdv also suggested "how". It might be more complex, but there is more to life than just a "blinking arrow". For timeline editing, I've not found any software as fast as Vegas, and I have several on my computer ranging from consumer to "professional".

In the end, I use the right tool for the right job to get it done as efficiently as possible.

@formingus I know that can be hard to do when you're feeling frustrated but you'll get better answers on this forum if you don't insult the software or the other users. Just say you don't know how to do something and ask for help, and people will give you multiple ways to accomplish the task.

I do think 3POINT meant it in the literal way, ignorance as in your lack of knowledge reg Vegas, some words like that can be easily misread, esp if you're already in a frustrated mood but he could've maybe embellished his comment to clarify that a little so's as not to make it appear so blunt & patronising, & as Reyfox & RogerS says you're better off asking rather than stating then you wouldn't get such replies, (I'm still learning that 😂😂)

Word ignorant is offending word, leak of knowledge is something different.

English is not mine main language and with word so-called I mean a professional video editor not like others editors with some main functions, that is reason why I want to learn it, bcz it has more way futures the Videopad , filmora that I use currently.

Not knowing to work with Vegas will not make anyone ignorant bcz all of us work with different software's. I am pretty shure that, that clever person that call other ignorant dont know to work with alot of other software's that we do, but this not make him ignorant.

Friend, I ma pretty shure that vegas can do more than any other software, thats why I want to learn it. Yes you do have right I was a bit frustated bcz I cant make a simple blinking for 1 hour but realy a blink with some.other sw can be done in 30 sec. ANY WAY thanks. Appreciated 😊

The more "professional" the editor, the less automation they have. Professional editors do not want to rely on "canned" fixed effects that are common in consumer editors. They usually want to control every aspect of the editing process and the effects that are used. This does require more time in editing, whereas consumer editors will do all the work for you with "wizards", "templates", pre-made effects.

Maybe now, we can move on past our feelings and have a productive, informative "conversation".

There was no reason to be offended by anyone who is a beginner with Vegas. Any of us at begin has our own difficulty. The reason why I m trying to learn Vegas is that software worth to be learned. Anyway as you say, let close this and talk about something more constructive about Vegas. Good thing is that each time when I learn something from members hear I like Vegas mire and more. I didn't judge at all, if you do help them they should be glad, and thankfully. No one has been born learned, me too. So, there was not necessary to offend me because I know very well that Vegas can do that and way more of that, but it was my leak of knowledge with Vegas, that's why I ask for help on the forum as everyone does. I think
