I installed plugin for H624 but need more info

Hello guys,

So the new sony vegas above 13+ i guess, doesnt have annymore H264, but i found plugin for it and installed it. I see i can render H264 in Avi, but when i go to MP4 i cant see video formats. I can see H264 in Avi mode, But when i go to Magic of Mp4 i cant see Video format and can't change to H264, my other fellow worker using Piniton (simple software) and he can render mp4 with H264, Im a doing something wrong?, or when i installed the plugin for H264, so when i render in mp4 now its automaticly rendering with H264?

The reason why i wanna render in mp4 is that because there is new Nvidia render encoder which it makes more faster rendering. And also maybe Mp4 is assisting more elektronic devices then a Avi

my regards,

koray

The H264 codec is already used a longtime in Vegas Pro and there is only one Sony Vegas 13 available, since Vegas Pro 14 the Vegas programs are not owned anymore by Sony but are owned by Magix and called Vegas Creative Software available as Vegas Movie Studio and Vegas Pro.
Still the H264 codec for mp4 is available in the Magix AVC, Sony AVC and Mainconcept codecs, from which f.i. the Magix one has very fast mp4 renderoptions.

You must change nothing, you must choose the desired one.

Yes i know that if i render with nvidia its rendering faster if you have nvidia gpu, but is it also rendering with H624? if no is it not possible to render also with H264?

I have the feeling that you are mixing things up.
AFAIK H624 is not a videocodec.
H264 is a video codec also named AVC and for common use packed in a mp4 wrapper.
MP4 is not a codec only a kind of jacket or box and within that box many codecs and other things can be stored..

You would do well to start here:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/speaking-good-video-a-beginner-s-guide--104463/

Please don't download any more codecs; nobody would be able to help you at all.

There are two h264 / MP4 / AVC codecs (all the same thing!) in Vegas --

They are Mainconcept and Sony, and you absolutely do not need anything else.

You forgot the best one: Magix AVC😉

For that you need Vegas Pro 15 or later. Musicvid currently has Vegas Pro 14.

For the OP, re Missing Mainconcept AVC/AAC in Vegas Pro 16 [and 15]. johnmeyer on Internal (1st comment that came up using quick "Find..."...btw, he's still AAK e.g. on VideoHelp.)

Vkmast, you know me better than I know myself sometimes.

That said, I always assumed Magix AVC is an extension of Mainconcept, or am I off the mark?

vkmast wrote on 1/18/2019, 5:35 PM

@Musicvid, see Nick in the linked thread.

So yeah, sort of....

I'm still in the on-chip encoder resistance movement. More time and fewer deadlines.
