Issue with video after rendering.

Brian-Gleize wrote on 10/1/2020, 2:11 PM

This is a recent issue. I took a video from my camera as well as a different video from my web cam. Loaded them in to Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum and edited them. The raw video played fine. The edited version played fine on the preview panel. When I rendered the movie and saved it to the desk top the video had pixelated portions that would come in and out of focus.

There was a recent update to the program. Not sure that has anything to do with this. I just know that I have made a lot of videos and never had this problem. The only video that does not paly smoothly is the rendered version.

Any help would be apricated.

I presume you took the Make Movie option in VMS 17.
There is a bug it not always choose the right template, so it is better to choose the menu Project/ Render as... and make your own choice following your projectproperties and the best render option for you.

You are correct.

I used the Make Movie option.

I have used the program for a few months and new at this game. I am generally making short videos from my Panasonic Lumuix G7. Could you steer me to a guide that could help me know the proper setting to use.

That depends on your use for the video. For streaming, use the Internet AVC presets.

I am having a similar problem and perhaps this is a good place to drop my question:

Hi.  My rendered project is very grainy and somewhat pixelated. When I open Movie Studio 17 Platinum (that contained mp4 and AVCHS content) an error window pops up that says:  "Warning, an error occurred when loading the project file 'Lobstic.mp4.   Some streams in the media file cannot be opened.               Then I simply click ok and carry on editing and things seem to work just fine and the completed project plays clear and smooth in my VMS17Platinum player.  But after I have rendered it 3 times(interned ready mp4), it is grainy and pixelated each rendering.

Noting the comment above about using the Save-as option for VMS17 platinum, I cannot find any rendering options in the save as window - the only option is .vf and there is a button to "save with media". So how do your select "save-as" and then make rendering format options???

Thank-you

Try "Render As..." instead to find Formats / Templates.

@Brian-Gleize & @Dale-Kiselyk
To be clear about this Choose for rendering the menu Project/Render as... or in Make movie go at the end to "Advanced Options" to make the right choices depending on your needs we don't know.
