.mov Alpha Channel not working

ScheffFrog wrote on 12/27/2016, 11:37 AM

I've attached the .mov clip I am trying to use in V14 (Magix). I've tried all the settings to make this work, but V14 does not see the alpha channel. I went back to V13 Pro as I am making TV Commercials today and am on a deadline to finish them, and these files work just fine.

What did V14 Pro change that they won't work? What can I do to make them work. I use these in every commercial!

My email is Scheffler555charter.net

Thanks for any help you can give me.
Steve

Why are you spamming the forum????

Seems he did not get the clip attached until on the 4th try. Expect the other 3 to be deleted:)

edit: note to OP: as the one with the clip was deleted, edit your post in this topic/thread and add the clip.

SheffFrog - this is the solution. Worked for me :)

mxhevcplug.dll issue ?

The only alternative way is to temporarily disable this plugin.

Go to C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 14.0\FileIO Plug-Ins (default folder installation), then rename the mxhevcplug folder to something else (like mxhevcplug_OFF)

By doing this, VP14 will use older QT7plug.dll to read.

SheffFrog, what build of VP14 are you using? The latest is 211 and ProRes support is evolving between every build. Update instructions in this thread.

Please share a sample of the footage. A MediaInfo report would also be useful.

I agree with jOn's workaround but note that the footage will decode with more contrast if qt7plug.dll reads it.

If you have problems with mov files, just try this:

Uninstall Quicktime (if installed) and install Quicktime 7.5.0 (old version yes) and install latest version of Avid QuickTime Codecs LE and K-lite Basic.
