Need help solving Error14 without going back to retailer. Its too far

Just want to edit some video and bought MS from Best Buy. I downloaded it correctly and wart trying to activate it says serial number already in use. Got an email saying I have registered my product. However I cannot use and the ONLY suggestion is to go back to retailer due to some code problem. I need a bypass to that suggestion. New download? Any help????

EDITED: This is Version 14.

It will not open to be able to use. It stops and wants me to register and activate. Can't activate due to problem above

Please check for possible typin errors and that you are using the serial number matching to the program.

Thanks...but I copied and pasted from registration email. Did several times to ensure no mistype

You should be able to contact Best Buy customer service online.

I have a hard time understanding why you were sold a five year old copy by a retailer. That is definitely something you will need to take up with them. 🙃

Sure you also downloaded the correct program? MS (basic) and Platinum versions have different serial numbers.
