Not Certain if I'm ready for the Pro version

NOKNOT wrote on 12/20/2021, 3:04 PM

Well, its been awhile since I have visited this site. I have been receiving promotions about the new VMS and thought I would see what people were saying about it and now Ive found out VMS is no more. Bummer. I have version 14 Platinum and was thinking about upgrading till I saw this. Not sure if Im ready for the Pro version. Any views or suggestions would be appreciated. I just do a few home movies from time to time so I might be better off sticking to what I have.

Test with the free trial first. Be sure to check the System requirements. Your VMSP 14 serial number should be eligible for the Upgrade pricing.

You can sometimes find previous versions of Vegas Pro at Humble Bundle, Steam, Kinguin, and G2A at bargain bin prices. All are legit, but sometimes involve extra steps.

Thanks all. Sure am glad I checked here or I would have bought it thinking it was Vegas. The pro version, does it come with an authoring program like DVDA

No version comes with VEGAS DVD Architect any more as it was discontinued in July 2020. Note that if you have VMS Platinum 14, you should have a version of DVD Architect. I think it may even be VEGAS DVD Architect, which you should still be able to update to the last build.

Is the subscription plan all thats offered in Vegas Pro? Thats all I can find

No, it is not. You can still buy a perpetual version. Did you choose a "payment plan" to see the dropdown menu?
