You can ignore but not block another user. For ignored users I think you would no more see the ignored user's comments but the ignored user still could read everyones comments including the one he/she ignored him/her. Just like in real life. :D

Yeah, ignored is what I used. It blocks their comments. I wish someone knew if they could see mine though.
@Former user ... it would be great if you could advise about how to block on this forum - I've not seen that function here before.
Even though I don't post on the chat room at www.railcam.uk (webcams of rail traffic at British railway stations - also at Lyon France), they have a specific 'block' selection against an individual poster on their chat room. I don't know whether or not activating that block also achieves what you are asking with railcam.uk.
Interestingly, the rubbish that was posted on the railcam.uk chat room for their Crewe camera on the recent full moon (a blood moon if it was in the northern hemisphere as well as in the southern) was incredible. The mods were deleting almost every second comment that day.
Okay ... @Marco. and @vkmast have clarified. Many thanks guys.
Oh, I had thought the option only stopped individuals from sending PMs. Nice to know it will ignore their posts as well. There are a handful of loquacious wannabes clogging traffic lately . . .

@Musicvid probably the same person I ignored. Sorry I used the term block.

If I don't see their comments, I am not tempted to respond. Good for my mental health.
forvo.com is absolutely excellent for finding local pronunciations in hundreds of languages and dialects, and I've found it extremely useful for finding the correct pronunciations of many foreign language words - most recently Vietnamese and Cambodian - when doing VOs for travelogues.
Not every word will be there because the website relies on locals contributing pronunciations.
@Dexcon thanks for the link. You did notice that I quoted "/ləˈkweɪʃəs/"? I know there are quite a few sites that provide pronunciations and often use them for help. Still trying to learn to say "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" though. 😉
I was taught how to teach International Phonetic Alphabet fifty years ago. This is how good theater and choir directors are able to teach unified vowel production, enabling performance in any language (there are 16 basic Western vowels including the first Umlaut). with a reasonable semblance of intelligibility.

@Musicvid I first started learning about Umlaut more than sixty years ago. Interesting to see in this thread that all of us are probably not getting any younger (with the exception of @Marco.) 😎
