I just got Movie Studio 15 Platinum and I am going through Setting it up.

Everything goes good but as soon as I get to the Master Audio Slider and click on the Lock at the Bottom everything Locks up in the program.

My Mouse can still move but nothing happens when I click on anything.

I click on the Pad Lock under the Master Audio Slider to try to Un Lock it so I can Ajust the Metter.

How do I do this????

And I have an i3-2130 CPU 3.40 GHz and 6. GB DDR3 RAM and the FREE RAM is 5.87 GB and Win7. 64 Bit.

Is this ok??

Choose ASIO audio drivers in Preferences.

See if it makes a difference.

Also, which build of Movie Studio 15 do you use?

Vegas Pro and I also think Movie Studio has a problem with the Classic Windows design. If an Aero Design is used, the master bus window should work properly. It also helps to undock this window.
It's a known issue, was the answer when I reported it to Magix some time ago.

I have Movie Studio 15 Platinum Build 102.

What is ASIO audio drivers and why should I pick it?

And I have all my Win7. 64 Bit Visuals FX turned Off I am useing Clasic Look.

Like I say my Build is 102. but I did go into Preferences and I see nothing for ASIO Drivers.

But under Audio Device I have a Dropdown Box that has

1. Microsoft Sound Mapper. 2. Direct Sound Surround Mapper. 3.Windows Classic WAV Driver.

And one more thing I have Temp Folder set to my USB External Drive. Movie Studio 8. had one for Audio and one for Video.. This version just has I think one.

And should I keep the Record Temp Fold set to my C: Drive because when I start Moie Studio up it takes long and spins my External Drive up.

I think I have my Folders set up wrong.

Thanks for the time.

I think this was a bug of early MS builds so maybe updating to the current build could solve your issue.

Vegas has a problem with the classic window layout. This is still present in the current Vegas Pro build 352 and probably also in Movie Studio. Under Win 10 it will hardly be a problem, as hardly any user has adapted the classic design. My second computer with Win 7 has exactly this problem. I pull down the master bus window and leave it undocked. Then everything works. I do not want to switch to Win 7 designs. These are too clunky on the small screen. The problem has been around for a long time.

I look for the 3. Dots that are next to each window to let you Un Dock it and move it.

But Movie Studio 15 Platinum has no 3. Dots next to each window. So How do I Un Dock the Master Bus window to see if it will let me movie the Slider?

matthias-krutz wrote on 1/5/2019, 4:08 PM

Click on the text "Master Bus" at the bottom of the window and drag the window downwards while holding down the left mouse button.

´Hold down the ctrl-key to snap back or use a defined window layout, View -> Window Layouts -> Default layout.
