Rendering with SVP18 problems...SOLVED!

alaina_ wrote on 9/11/2020, 3:41 AM

I bought Sony Vegas Pro 18 a few days ago and i haven't been able to render... only because it keeps trying to render literally EVERYTHING when i have a certain part selected that i want to render but it keeps trying to render everything, so i'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem or have had this problem and know how to fix it? i've had to go back to SVP17 because SVP18 won't listen and render just the part i have selected! i have never had any problems using sony vegas before, all the other versions work perfectly and have never done this. any help would be really appreciated!

THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO MANAGED TO HELP ME WITH THIS!!

Make sure "render loop region" is selected in the render settings, then it will only render what is selected within the loop region.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

@fr0sty It was and it still kept rendering everything.

Cannot replicate the issue when "Render loop section only" is selected in Render Options of the Render As window. In VEGAS Pro 18, not "Sony/ SVP".

LITTLEBOOKOWL, remember that at the bottom left of the Render As dialogue box, under Render Options, you have to tick "Render loop region only".

Then make sure the Loop Playback icon is selected on the timeline toolbar (that's below your timeline).

@Steve_Rhoden Ohmigosh! Thank you so bloody much! I had actually forgotten that you have to tick that because it's been so bloody long since I last upgraded. That was a huge help. Thank you!

@vkmast Thank you, I actually forgot I had to do it in the render settings since it's been forever since I last upgraded!

@Steve_Rhoden Then make sure the Loop Playback icon is selected on the timeline toolbar (that's below your timeline). Just for clarity. If I'm not mistaken, it's not necessary to select this icon. It's only necessary to select the 'Render loop region only' check box.
