Vegas products now separate from Magix?

I am curious to know if Vegas Creative Software is now a spin-off from Magix. In other words, is it now a new company or is it still a part of the Magix "family?" I am hoping it is now separate from Magix. If it is still part of Magix, what exactly is the connection? Same website, it appears. Or not. I am confused. There are so many things going on with Magix, and most of it is confusing. So, what's the deal?

In short, VEGAS Creative Software operates as a separate company, but it is owned by MAGIX.

VCS has its own product line as you can see at https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/

No, it was an acquisition in 2016.

@j-v "Over the coming months, the VEGAS and MAGIX websites will likely be reconfigured to reflect the change in branding for Movie Studio."

"Over the coming months" is a very flexible concept that Magix will not be in a hurry with.😉

@j-v I am not able to speculate on that.

That transition for Movie Studio is still in progress. With the launch of VP19, and the new VCS website, you can see that the MS section has been moved to a less visible placement and I believe we will only be keeping it there for another few months.

Thanks all. I'm hip to the situation now. I appreciate all the responses. I go back a ways with Sonic Foundry. Cool name, and even cooler logo. I think they were selling caps back then. Shoulda bought one. I was distressed a bit when Sony bought them out, but they made good money, I'm sure, so good for them. Really glad to know Vegas is transitioning their branding away from Magix.

Really glad to know Vegas is transitioning their branding away from Magix.

As I can see, it goes the opposite way: Magix taking more control. There is some kind of power struggle going on between Magix and Vegas Creative. It's very confusing. Can't figure out if it is Vegas Creative that promises too much (and then can't keep their promises), or if it's Magix that's on purpose harassing Vegas Creative by forcing bad changes in their bundles and deals?
