VMS HD Platinum crashes - V 10, Build 179

Recently upgraded to Windows 10 pro V 1903, Core i5, 3.30 GHz, 8GB RAM, 64-bit; No problems importing sony AVCHD movie files to my project. Now importing .MOV files - vids I took with my iPhone 10 - the first few imported no problems. Now, when I import those files, they turn "green" and "red", program crashes, or just the audio imports.

So, I followed the instructions to download Quicktime Alternative (uninstalled existing QuickTime 7); still does not fix this problem. And now, after opening the program, it immediately crashes.

What else could I do to fix this problem?

That is not a Vegas Pro version. Do you mean Vegas Pro Version10, Build 179?

If so, it should not work on Windows 10, should not open iPhone 10 videos, and should not open >1080p files. It requires Quicktime 6.2.

And its not even close to an upgrade. Please start here and provide the required information:

The OP seems to have SONY Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 build 179, which was the last (and only?) build and still only a 32-bit application. As you have Windows 10 64-bit OS, maybe it's time to upgrade to a later Platinum version.

There's a free 30-day trial of VEGAS Movie Studio 17 Platinum (64-bit) downloadable from the product pages. See also the Specifications/System requirements there. If you decide to upgrade, your old v.10 serial number should be valid for the special upgrade pricing (if it has not been used to upgrade before).

Btw, I still have QT 7.6.9, which I had at the time I was using VMSP 10. Feels like it was some centuries ago.

For those still needing QT 7.6.x for their one-digit Vegas versions, it is still available at https://support.apple.com/downloads/quicktime

Thank you vkmast and Musicvid - I do NOT have Vegas PRO. It does appear that I need to upgrade and will try the 30-day trial of VMS 17 Plat 64-bit version. In the meantime, I'll also try QT 7.6.9 version to use with my current VMS HD Plat 10 to see if that works. thanks for both links!

I just noticed that VMS 17 requires 16 GB RAM - I only have 8 GB RAM
