VP 14 XAVC-S encoder missing

videobo wrote on 7/16/2018, 3:56 AM

I'hd Vegas Pro 14 and VMS 14 Suite installed. Then i've installed the VMS 15 trial.

I've also deinstalled it already because trial is over and probably i'll wait for VMS 16.

But now XAVC-S encoder is missing on exporting videos in VP14 and VMS 14.

Its simply not listed anymore, all filters are off, how can i fix this?

Edit: I've reinstalled VP and VMS several time since this without success.

My first try would be to reinstall Vegas Pro.

Besides that, have you tried resetting?

Resetting also does not work.

I found out that when i start a fresh project and just add a Media-Generator then XAVC is in the encoder list. As soon as i add footage (mp4, mov, h264, fhd or uhd) then some options, including XAVC vanish.

If i remove then the footage material completly from the project the XAVC option is still vanished, i need to restart to get it back. When the project with footage is reloaded then XAVC option is again vanished.

All Filters are off in the encoder list and i've tried different project resolutions, also those how directly fit to XAVC.

Same in behaviour in VP14 and VMS 14.

It may have something to do with hardware rendering in the preview and/or output. Just a stab at it; others know far more about testing it. The fact that it happens with a fresh project may point to a system conflict.

That was a good hint.

I've checked all the hardware settings in different ways and it looks like this problem only appears when a second monitor via the iGPU is enabled. If the monitor from the iGPU is unplugged and i'm just using my AMD card then the render options appear in the list.

iGPU can be activated but the monitor must be unplugged.

Has someone experiences with this issue in VP15 or VMS15? (Sorry i cannot trial anymore)
