"waves tune" (audio) plugin gets "Rewire link cannot be established"

For my virtual choirs, I'd like to apply a pitch correction plugin. I've installed "waves tune".

In Movie Maker, I went to Options->Preferences..., VSTPlugins tab, and browsed to C:\Program Files\VSTPlugIns\, where WaveShell2-VST 12.0_x64.dll is located, providing 4 Audio effects. I go to an audio event in my timeline, click on fx, "Add" any Waves Tune... effect, and the Waves interface pops up, but with the error "Rewire link cannot be established; please check your settings" in the top display.

I was hoping to just apply some pitch correction effect, mindlessly, to every vocal track. Can you tell me how to make Waves work? OR, recommend another simple pitch correction plugin?

Windows 10, 64-bit. Waves Tune v 12.

You must contact your third party plugin developer for support. Vegas has no association, nor does it connect to Rewire.

I solved my problem a different way: I found the "GSnap" plug-in GVST, which is free. I downloaded it for my 64-bit machine, and copied GSnap.dll to C:\Program Files\VSTPlugIns . I re-started Movie Maker, and the plug-in was present among the audio plugins. I can tune whole tracks or make splits and tune short regions.

You probably mean a (VEGAS) Movie Studio version and not (Windows) Movie Maker.

You're right; I have Movie Studio 17 Platinum.
