After purchasing Vegas Pro 17 Suite, I dont get Boris FX's email

BlazingFlame wrote on 9/22/2019, 8:48 PM

So I recently purchased Vegas Pro 17 Suite, which includes 3 units from Boris FX Continuum. I am having problems installing those units.
After installing everything, a pdf opens leading me to a form on Boris Fx's website to activate the 3 addons (Continuum Lights Unit, Key and Blend Unit, and 3D objects unit) that come with VP17 Suite. I fill it out but never get an email. Its been almost 2 days since I filled it out, and almost 2 days since I contacted Boris' support about it. I've heard nothing.
  -Thanks

Probably doesn't matter for this issue but here are my specs. (I know they're rough for editing.)
Specs:
Windows 10 Home 64bit
GTX 1060 3GB
i5-7400 3GHz
24GB DDR4 Ram
1TB SSD, 2TB HDD

Doesn't the section on Boris FX here help any?

I just got a response from BorisFX with the download link, but thanks for the help anyways.
Problem solved.

I have the same problem, no email after 6 hours. Guess I just have to wait. Frustrating

BlazingFlame wrote on 11/16/2019, 2:34 PM

Yea, just send them a support ticket, they'll respond in a day or 2

I opened a support ticket yesterday. Seems to be a very archaic system they've got. They should change the 30 minutes response time to 30 days.

Same thing here.... no email and it's 3 hours later. This is very unprofessional and frustrating.

To add insult to injury, I purchased BCC Beauty Studio and now can't install it because I've activated it too many times. Really???

I'm staying away from Boris FX from now on.....

Oh, opened a support ticket too. Watching the tutorial video on getting Boris fx into VP17 also has several comments about not getting emails to download the software.

I wonder why their support desk was closed on the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

Outrageous ;?)

Not really.... today is Thursday and I just got an email. That's 4 days later.

It was an apologetic email and I was offered the opportunity to upgrade to the complete version of Borix Continuum at a substantial discount.

Last changed by Reyfox on 12/4/2019, 5:38 AM, changed a total of 1 times.

Not that it matters but it's still Wednesday in Europe.

I finally pulled the trigger on Monday to upgrade to the Vegas 17 suite as included Boris FX (I am in desperate need of decent green screen keyer for a project)

It is now Wednesday and they still haven’t emailed me the install link.  I have burned two production days just waiting for that email to pop-up… “please wait 30 minutes for the email” they said.

I now see this problem dates back to September 2019 and they still haven’t fixed it?? So frustrating.. At the very least they could tell customers the truth that it might take several days after paying for the product to be able to use their product.

I opened a ticket with Boris yesterday. No response as of yet.

Maybe the Thanksgiving holiday vacation stretches into January in Germany?

I am thinking about demanding a refund at this point…it is not just frustrating it is an unacceptable business practice.

End rant

update - about 30 minutes after posting Boris tech support responded and gave me the link. Installed now and excited to play with all the new toys! One thing that seemed curious was the link they emailed me is just standard link to an installer exe off their website. So not sure why the hassle of having to wait for an email? I would think they would just post the link? Oh well..i got some keying to do

BlazingFlame wrote on 1/15/2020, 2:06 PM

Yea i don’t see why they don’t just give you the link on the website, you still have to put in the product # and register with the installer and the link they give out is the same

jay-boo wrote on 1/15/2020, 7:51 PM

Right you are blazingfalme- so after a follow up with the Boris rep, I don't think there is anything wrong with my posting the link here (so nobody ever has to go through the trauma of waiting for the email response)
However, there might be a problem with posting a direct link to an exe extension on this board? So, just go to

https://borisfx.com/downloads/?

The version which shipped with the Vegas Studio 17 upgrade i purchased I assume is listed under the OFX version (can't they list Vegas Video by name?)

btw - i am LOVING it - I can finally produce nice green screen keys in Vegas just like i can do Adobe Premiere! Good bye Adobe.. hello again Vegas.. =) I missed your uber fast editing workflow.. just don't crash as much as you did in v15 and we can be good friends again.

I'm having the same issue, downloaded the exe and installed... but, why did I get 3 different license numbers (Boris FX Continuum Lights Unit, Boris FX Continuum Key and Blend Unit and Boris FX Continuum 3D Objects Unit) in the email from Vegas?

Do I just need to install once or three different exe's? Sooo confusing lol

See if this advice here helps.
