annoying black screen glitch

hakerethan wrote on 6/18/2020, 9:17 AM

Hello,

I have been getting this problem where on VEGAS, my screen glitches black. It is not entirely black, just glitches that make me not understand whats going on. It is more bearable then what you may think, as it only happens for certain parts but frame by frame is just a pain. It happens most of the time when I start playing a clip, or a transition plays, then it calms down and I can understand whats happening after that.

I use VEGAS Pro 15.0

There is no such thing as Sony Vegas Pro 15.

Is your Vegas Pro a pirated copy or a legally purchased product from Vegas Creative Software (MAGIX) with a license? If the latter, maybe lodge a support ticket.

@hakerethan What are those small sections on the timeline that coincide with the glitches? Are they transitions and if so, which transitions? Is it possible that you've just dropped the transitions on the join of two clips? If you don't do this correctly, you can get odd results such as these.

Yes, I did use transitions. I do not think this is the only fix to the issue, as this was happening before I put the transitions there. But thanks for pointing that out! Also, I think I know the problem. I found someones post relating to my problem, and I got some help there too. I figured out that certain OBS settings don't like VEGAS Pro.

Edit: The transitions are S_Dissolveshake

Edit again: None of the OBS settings were different from what I used, so I still got a problem.

Try turning off GPU Acceleration of Video Processing as a test.

I have done this, and restarted VEGAS. The only difference it made was make the video not have anti-aliasing.

Thanks for trying, though.

My understanding is that Vegas Pro 13 was the last from Sony Creative Software.

@Chas-S Please post a screenshot of your splash screen showing "Sony Vegas pro 15".

I don't believe in pirating its theft and as an artist I would never do that .

Me neither as it does not exist. And Sony/SCS never sold any VEGAS versions later than 13 as said earlier.

Reyfox wrote on 12/21/2021, 2:34 AM

How about expanding the timeline where the "black" occurs? It's hard to see with your video since it's so compacted. Also, what transition are you using. If you scrub through the transition, do you see "black"?

What are your computer specs? Are your graphics (whether card or integrated) drivers up to date?

Adorama is a respected store in NY competing with B&H and selling the same items. As for the price of Vegas Pro 15...... we are on Vegas Pro 19, and the price of the top tier version, Vegas Post, is less than the price of VP15 from Adorama.

I seen the price of 15 and thought way overpriced . I have 18 and 19 now I got 18 and 3 weeks later 19 came out. grrrr. I'll dump 15 and put 18 on my older devise My new gear gets 19. Up side is they let you use it on 2 machines at once .
