any rendered video ends up at a 0 or 24 octets file !

halcyon2022 wrote on 7/19/2022, 8:30 AM

HI, I can't render any project cause vegas is having so much fun after hours of rendering with or without video NVENC activated the file that will be created will be empty.

If i choose to render some part of the video it will wok but the 43 minutes is out of the question ( after 5 attempts i managed to run a complete render with cpu only and a low bit rate 80000 to 40000.

can't render MP4 4k videos for youtube anymore

the recorded raw video with geforce experience can be without editing being transferred and converted by youtube, but vegas does not whant to know anything.

even aplle format won't work but this time there's a window telling me that something wrong occured.

there's only one other person wich had the same problem on the forum.

I used the shif+control double clik to reset preferences

I unsinstall vegas and dowloaded it from the website

and it's all the same

Any one could give me a hand or a magic trick cause MAGIX is no Magic at all !

thanks

my setup is windows 10 - Vegas pro 18 ( well a usellss Vegas pro 18)

i7 8700k

32 go

rtx 3080

1. Has this always happened in the past?

2. What version of VP18 are you using?

3. What does MediaInfo say about your file?

4. What are you doing to the files on the timeline?

Read this POST so that you can supply more information.

HI, I had issues one month ago when i tried rendering short videos no more than 3 minutes each with sliding manually one masked video on the left over the second video track and adding several times a pic from the 2 videos for side by side comparison and, vegas kept crashing before the video rendering ending.

now it is different.

right now I deactivated the loop region option and trying right now it that had something to do, but i always double clicked the top bar in order to set the loop region and never had such problem since i bought Sony vegas pro 12.

vp 18 pro it 's the last build cause i dowloaded it again today

the file is only editted with one fade in and fade out and 3 other video tracks using vegas titler during the whole video, nothing else ( 2 audio tracks one from the video and other from the commentary)

wow ! really interesting i could not go through rendering cause it crashed to desktop this time !

Try pasting in the details from the information tab in MediaInfo.

@halcyon2022

Do you live in Brazil?

If not, why does your source video frame rate show as PAL, 59.94 fps?

We need the full detailed Mediainfo report.

@john_dennis My Gefo5rce screen captures show 3840*2160 (16:9), at 60,000 AVC (PAL) (HIGH@51)... like his, my other files don't show that PAL

PS. I'm in the UK

this is how geforce experience recorded for the last 2 years all the videos i successfully edited with vegas pro and it never caused that kind of trouble but in the meantine vegas did have several updates and build.

john_dennis wrote on 7/20/2022, 3:40 PM

Have you tried to render one of those project from two years ago?

Convert to constant frame rate outside of Vegas.

Handbrake or Shutter Encoder.

Yesterday i managed to have a full mp4 file but nvenc is adding dirty artefacts whenever it is set on settings n 3- 7 or 8 in presets tab below encoding.'3 high quality, 7 no loss default 8 no loss high performance

the only one that was with no artefacts was the one with 9 hours rendering with cpu only.

The gpu accelerator encoding is absolutely fucked up and useless now.

Is that the same for you all ? Using nvenc with a magix aac/avc mp4 file ?

Was the download from one of the options mentioned in the download FAQ, in points 2 (=3), 4 or 7?

halcyon2022 wrote on 7/21/2022, 8:53 AM

I entered my magix password then went to my products and choose installation program for vegas pro 18

Just a question.
How much space is free on the destination drive? There must be at least twice the expected file size of free space.

Desktop: Ryzen R7 2700, RAM 32 GB, X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming, Radeon RX 5700 8GB, Win10 2004

Laptop: T420, W10, i5-2520M 4GB, SSD, HD Graphics 3000

VEGAS Pro 14-18, Movie Studio 12 Platinum, Vegasaur, HOS, HitfilmPro

Maybe vegas needed free space in the installation disk I installed vegas on my C drive but every render were stocked on the E drive ( always had enough space on that one) and my videos were captured on G drive. I had almost 80 go occupied in the C drive temp directory and I removed those 2 mysterious files (don't know how vegas deals with temp files if it was unable to successfully render a project ? ) now with 84 go of free space on C, vegas can complete those renders.

And I successfully rendered 2 files with nvenc activated and CBR (not VBR) and no artefacts and the quality seems close from the raw recording .

The only thing that is really odd is that vegas tells me that the file would only take 290 mo while the original one is 43 go and in the end it created a 23.3 go file.
