Conversion of old formats to be compatible with Vegas Movie Studio

I have downloaded video from decades old 8mm tape, VHS, and multiple Sony cameras. I therefore have .modd,.moff.av, .avc, .avi mpeg2, and .m2ts . They are all in my storage drives, and I want to put them on disc. My current Vegas Studio (v.11) does not support all of them. What can I do to make them compatible for editing and putting on disc? Presently running on PC with Win 7 Pro.

Personally I'd only convert those which VMS cannot handle. Which formats are giving problems?

Try renaming .mod to .mpg extension

You may not need a conversion.

I read the OP mentioning .modd and .moff files.

I believe .modd is a still format, and .mod is mpeg video from a JVC.

I have no knowledge of .moff video.

MediaInfo for all mystery files would be helpful.

Yes, .mod files were those from JVC/Canon/Panasonic. (We discussed them to some extent a few years back)

An article on .modd and .moff here.
