Converting so won't need to in DVDA

Hey

OK I've run into some problem with Vegas Pro 12.

I started a different thread for that one.

This one is a bit different.

OK

I have been for some quite some time have been doing all my converting videos through Vegas 12. Just because It is the only converter I have that seems to work without a hitch.

So what I want to do is convert my videos so they will import into DVDA 6 without needing to recompress, which through Vegas is no problem.

But now with the problem I'm having, is there a way to convert the videos using AVS video convert that will work with DVDA?

I usually use the profile in Vegas for DVDA. But AVS has no such profile. So I'm trying to figure out the settings I need to use that will allow the converted video to be imported into DVDA without the need to recompress the video. I have tried several settings myself but have hit a brickwall. Just they simply won't fly without forcing recompressing them in DVDA. I guessing I'm just not setting something right in the advanced settings in AVS. Just don't have a clue as to what.

I like AVS because the batch convert works great but the batch convert in Vegas is a pain in the you know what!

So if others out there use AVS and know the settings I would love it if you would share them. AVS I found to be slightly faster also but not enough to be a big deal.

So bottom line I need to convert videos inside AVS that will import into DVDA 6 without recompressing.

I know all this already. The problem is once the conversion is done the resulting mpg file. DVDA 6 only says it will recompress the media file. But if I wash it through Vegas using the DVDA profile at rendering everything works just no other conversion program will work. I examine the profile settings in Vegas and try to duplicate those settings inside of AVS but it still will not give me a conversion compatible with DVDA 6. So I end up having to use Vegas for the conversion, but should be able to convert the files with any conversion utility prog. with the right settings, at least I would think. Yes I have tried talking to AVS about it but I don't get a reply from anyone. So It must be a setting in AVS that will work. Just don't know what that might be.

I would be not complaining about it if Vegas was working since it's not I'm trying to figure out a way to do the conversion in AVS but have had no luck so far getting a working file in DVDA 6.

Dvda expects it's files to come from its own templates in Vegas. It is not a universal authoring program.

You of course need separate elementary Streams that comply with Sony's structure. To do that with another encoder, start here:

Oh, and do let us know your recipe when you get it working.

I'm seeing "Not available" for that link, and not available in Wayback Machine either because of Robots.txt. What was the article?

mv's link worked yesterday for me, not today...
