@Shawn-Ervin Your .vf is a projectfile of Vegas Movie Studio. Such a file can be loaded in VPro 17 as project. If all used extra's will come with it as MediaGenerators, Effects a.s.o, depends if the same are also in the Pro version, but your files and edits come all to the timeline of Vegas Pro if they remain still on your computer where they were used to make that .vf.
"Vegas Movie Studio project files (*.vf) will open in Vegas Pro if the (*.vf) file was created in a numerical version that is less than or equal to the numerical version of Vegas Pro."
I think that this is still valid for the current VEGAS product lines.
The exception was that if the Pro version was released earlier than the same numerical version of MS, the .vf project(s) did not (and do not) open in Pro.
@vkmast … a nice find, and great info. Maybe that's why .vf is not listed on VP's supported import list because its conditional on the Movie Studio version.

The current example is the number 17 versions.
So, as they sold me an upgrade from Movie Studio Platinum 17.0 to VEGAS Pro 17.0 last week, how do I open the projects I had saved in the Movie Studio Platinum 17.0 VF file format?
I submitted a support request, but this seems like something that might have come up?
@Darren-Larkins As I recall VegasDerek explaining in another post, and 3POINT mentioning above, VMS17 vf files cannot be opened in VPro 17. This is due to changes made in VMS17 But VPro 18 will be able to open them. The article vkmast referred to is now out of date.
