Downloading w/o Disk Drive

I just got Movie Studio Platinum 13 before Sony gave the property to MAGIX, and I'm trying to install it. However, my computer doesn't have a disk drive and I can't find out how to install it since the last time this question was asked the site was redesigned had a feature called "my software" where you could download programs with access codes for those w/out disk drives.

Is there anything like that feature that lets you download directly without paying but instead using an access code found in a physical copy?

If you are running a thin client, the software will need be downloaded, installed, and run from the host server, like any program. Contact your administrator.  I hope you're on a gigabit lan.

Just curious, but if you don't have a disk drive, where are you intending to install the software? It runs off of a local drive.

He might mean he doesn't have an optical drive (CD) for installing from the boxed edition.

Or he could have an SSD.

To clarify I don't have a physical disk entering device. I'm using the American spelling "disk" with no distinction from a "disc" (Commonwealth) to mean "CD". I think I might have a solid state drive, tho.

Thanks for your help everyone.

I'm guessing what you mean is that you do have internal storage in your computer, whether it be traditional hard drive or SSD, but what you don't have is a CD/DVD drive. Correct? That makes sense and is more and more common. So yes, you will have to download the install files. After that it will be just like any other install.

I dare say that *MOST* of us Vegas users haven't bought the software on disc in quite some time. Most of us simply download instead. It's faster, easier, cheaper, and you get the latest updates.
