How to render without a background in Movie Studio Platinum 13.0?

Eddulwichphoto wrote on 1/23/2019, 5:38 AM

So here's what I know so far, I know to right click and go to properties to change the format, but I don't have that option. My Alpha Channel is white and clear (Set it to black still no difference) my imported files are all .gif's, I've also tried .png, and I've found out that it's meant to be in Quick Time. But it's still not working? I managed it once but I forgot to change the size and can't remember the settings I used... Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

In order to render an alpha channel, you need source that already contains an alpha layer. You cannot "create" transparency by checking a button.

You're leaving the important thing out there bud :P how do I do that? The GIF already has no background. I don't have a choice in what format I can change it to. https://gyazo.com/2447475f9725feeb258ec7ac60294d3e

By importing the gifs as an "image sequence" trough media import I think

Might try transparent PNG or PSD instead.

If checking Source Alpha or Premultiplied doesn't work with your source image, I don't know how to help, bud.

That option is greyed out for me though?

Probably my mistake by not getting your question right.

Do you know of any format that it would work with?

Is there any update available for this? I've heard that a couple of times through my own research as well so I'm thinking they could have patched it so that it actually works. I have 13.0 and I don't think I ever updated it...

You'll get the last Magix rebranded build # 987 (64-bit) using any of the options in this FAQ, points 2 to 5. With luck, the "archive" links in point 6 may give you the last SCS build # 955 (which is practically the same as 987 from Magix).

You sir, are a scholar and a legend. I've been trying to work out how to do that for three days and then you come along and do that. Thank you very much bud, That's very much appreciated.

Well that worked once, now I made a slight change to the animation and it doesn't any more... These are the right settings? https://gyazo.com/a4a267c67029551ae76d03696e2e6a04

When I first taught myself Vegas Video 2, I found myself doing a lot of things I couldn't understand or explain well enough to fix on my own or on the forum. Any one of us would know instantly what you did, if we were standing at your computer.

So, I began a lot of new projects so I wouldn't have to figure out what I did wrong, until a wise soul on this forum said four words in 2004 that changed the direction of my life forever:

"Save Early, Save Often."

There you go, you're probably already making some really good mistakes!
