Not sure how that post applies. NOTHING works. There is NOTHING to post. Project Media, not my files, does not work. It worked in v.15

Sorry I don't use that kind of dashboard view.
Try to delete it by the red x and show us the screenshot what you see than.

Who are you and why are asking all this stuff?

My PM window does not work whether it is docked, undocked, tabbed, or anything else. You can see that I have clips in the timeline and they do not show up in the PM window.

I'm also a user who's trying to help you on this userforum for Vegas products.
If you want no help say it.

and they do not show up in the PM window.

I tried to make clear to you that this is not the "normal PM window".
For a user who is a little advanced as I am this is the normal PM window

I suspect it's a customized layout, a mix of Power Mode and Easy Editing Mode. The shown project media window is in Easy Editing Mode. The storyboard is not synchronized with the timeline, but should always sync automatically in Easy Editing Mode.

I would reset MovieStudio
Hold Ctrl + Shift-key an start the program, tick the checkbox and OK.

+1 @j-v using the normal program interface (Power User mode). Btw, the full resetting instructions here.

Ed-Lyons wrote on 10/30/2019, 2:32 PM

Thank you for everyone's help. Rather than resetting (I don't make desktop icons) I held down <shift> when I clicked on tools|options|preferences and changed Easy Mode to false. Not sure how it got turned to true. I never used that mode. Now my PM window shows the events on the timeline and no longer freezes!

I have Movie Studio 16 Platinum and Windows 10. The application is locking up while adding media in the P.M. If I go into the task manager a COM Surrogate job is running and when I end that task it unlocks the add media screen. Note that the file properties are not on the bottom of the window either. I have reset the application already to the installation defaults. Any idea what might be causing this?

Possibly VMS cannot handle the media. What is it? Post media info of your files https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/.

Kris-Waller wrote on 12/31/2019, 8:22 PM

They are video clips from a Sony camera downloaded from a Sony Memory Recording Unit (HVR-MRC1K). It's something that I done a lot and it only recently started working intermittently. Sometimes if I copy the file to another folder and back they start working.
