Project Settings

I have Movie Studio 15 and I am in the Project Properties and need help. I have Video Clips on my Computer that are .MPEG2. Format and .AVI720X480 Format and .VOB Format 720X480. And now I have a Camcorder that takes Video in 1080 .MPEG2. Format. So when I am in Project Properties and I Pick a Template from the Drop Down List I see 2. that I can use.

The First I can use is NTSC DV 720X480 29.97 FPS. And the other one that I can use is HD 1080 60i 29.27 FPS. Now if I Pick 1080 60i is the 60i Stand for 60 Frames Interlaced? And am I Right that the Project Templates are just how the Video will be Played Back in the Preview Window?

NTSC DV 720X480 29.97 FPS and HD 1080 60i 29.97 FPS have identical frame rates. It's just a naming difference.

Both are 29.97 frames per second, 59.940 fields per second, because there are two fields per frame.

I would be more concerned about using a Project template that matches your output resolution, in this case.

Thank you for getting back to me. So am I Right if I Pick 1080 6i from the Project Templates Drop Down Window this is just for how it will Display in the Preview Screen as I Edit and Play Back to See how it looks? And one other thing I have a Check in Fallow This Topic on the Page but I never get any E Mail Telling me somebody just Replyed to you?

We need to see your File Properties. Is your source 1080 60i? What is your intended use for your rendered file?

Check your spam folder, or see if your mail server is rejecting it. You may need to "whitelist" the sending email address, which is <>.

Also, go to your profile settings and confirm you have the required email items ticked:

Well my Camcorder Takes the Video in 1080 RES. at 30 FPS. But other Video Clips I Add and Edit with it are 720x480. So if I Pick 1080 from the Project Drop Down List what is this doing? I thought it makes your Project Video Display Screen Show everything in 1080 or is this not what it is doing?

Musicvid wrote on 7/22/2020, 12:24 PM

Well my Camcorder Takes the Video in 1080 RES. at 30 FPS.

You have told me, ... absolutely nothing.

I can't answer your question without seeing the complete file properties. Thanks for understanding, I won't ask again.

Robert-Costo wrote on 7/26/2020, 11:33 AM

When I Export the Video I Make as MPEG2. 72X480 29.97 FPS.

But like I Say some of my Clips will be 1080 30 FPS and some Clips will be 720X48 29.97 FPS.

So when I Ad then all and Edit them does it Matter what I Picmk ion the Project Properties?

EricLNZ wrote on 7/26/2020, 5:59 PM

Personally I consider it best to set your project properties to your intended export properties. That way you should see exactly how it will look. So in your case 720x480 29.97fps.

Robert-Costo wrote on 7/26/2020, 10:54 PM

Well let me Ask this?

If I Import some Video Clips into my TimeLine that are 720X480 at 29.97 FPS and I also Add some Video Clips that are 1080 at 30 FPS and I also Add some other Video Clips that are other RES. as well. And I want to make one Video out of all of these what do I Set my Project Properties to? This is what I should have Asked.

Robert-Costo wrote on 7/27/2020, 10:23 PM

Well when I Export and Render As and I pick MPEG2. 720X480 29.97 FPS this will be my OutPut File.

So why do I have to pick this before Hand as well in my Project Properties this is what I should have Asked?

Robert-Costo wrote on 7/28/2020, 11:39 AM

Well if I am going to pick Render As MPEG2. 720X480 29.97 FPS after I am all done then why do I pick a Project Properties Template in the Project Properties Window when I Set it all up?

Robert-Costo wrote on 7/28/2020, 10:40 PM

noreply means its not a monitored email account - its for sending emails only, not receiving them. If you need to contact the customer support team you probably need to follow the Ask Support link.

Cheers, Robbie
