@Kimberly-Durecki This may be different to what you are saying, but VP will save snapshots to the last projects saved snapshots location, until you redirect it to save to the current projects snapshot folder location of your choice.

This jjust started happening. Snapshots were always saved back to the folder that the video came from. Now it is saving to the last projecet Vegas did. I even close out and reopen and the same thing. I never had to save the project first and then save. I thought maybe it was a setting somewhere.

@Marco.

Thanks! I thought I saw that there, but I guess I clicked it and didn't even realize it worked. I guess it sent the frame-grab to the projects folder (which I didn't know until I read the OP's post).

@EricLNZ

Yeah, unfortunately I can't use the help tool in Vegas at all—it always crashes—I've never been able to successfully search it (i.e., I get the spinning circle after clicking "search," then Windows reports that the application is no longer responding). I've also read most of the manual, but that tends to be a bit light on details.

@studio-4 - Just a side-tip for you: My experience with The Help tool/file comes and goes with different versions of VP. I copy the Link and nail it to the Desktop, for me that’s just to the side of the ink and quill stand 😉.

Good idea! Yes, someone already helped me on this and posted the link as a workaround to the in-app help tool in my copy of Vegas Movie Studio 17 Platinum (build 221). Thanks!

I didn't understand the "ink and quill stand" bit either. It's what's known around here as "Grazie speak"! He has his own language.

@Kimberly-Durecki Sony has not been involved with VEGAS software since mid-2016. All versions since them have come from MAGIX. MAGIX VEGAS Support process starts if you click SUPPORT New on the black bar above. There are countless kind people on this forum trying to help. Glad you found the solution.

@vkmast  ... the OP has previously (on 11 May 21) indicated that she calls the product Sony by reason of habit:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/feeling-ripped-off-from-sony-and-borix--129051/#ca802192

... to which you commented at the time:

@Kimberly-Durecki please note CR 2. Note: "The editors and moderators of this website reserve the right to edit content in order to change the arrangement of information on topics". In this case it means we may be inclined to edit "Sony Vegas" comments as the VEGAS Team advises that "they want to avoid the appearance of misusing a brand that isn't theirs". Thank you for considering this.

I also very often don't understand Grazie because I grew up in a country where English is not spoken as a mother tongue.

In this case, he probably means the utensils that - as a precursor to the fountain pen - were used for writing. Namely, a quill and an ink glass.

Right - @Grazie ???

I grew up in London (which is where I understand Grazie resides) and I often don't understand him either!
